David Pike's Family History & Genealogy Resources

• Any great-grandchild of Charles Quinton and Sarah White who married in 1847 and later resided at Pincher's Point in Bonavista Bay. Several of their descendants later lived at Charleston, Bonavista Bay. I would like to arrange for their great-granchildren to do the "Family Finder" test at Family Tree DNA. Eight of their great-grandchildren have done this test so far.

Information about the Pike Family

• Pike Surname DNA Project
  Genealogical DNA tests have shown that there are at least two unrelated Pike families in Newfoundland. One is concentrated near Carbonear and another on the Burin Peninsula. There are several other Pike families that are not yet in the project, such as Pikes from Channel Port-aux-Basques, Old Perlican and Salmonier, so if you are a Pike then check out this project and consider joining.

  Note also that there is a separate "Family Finder" DNA Project which can be joined by anybody having ancestry from Newfoundland and/or Labrador.
