the Fourth Day of August Anno Domini One Thousand Six Hundred Sixty
Two And in the Foureteenth yeare of the Raigne of our most Gratious Soveraigne
Lord Charles the Second by the Grace of God of England Scotland France and
Ireland King Defendor of the Faith I John Pike of Gravesend in the County of
Kent Inholder being sicke and weake but of sound perfect and disposing memory
									praysed


(Praysed be God Doe therefore make and ordeyne this my last Will and Testament
in manner and forme following First and principally I committ and Comend my
soule into the hadns of Almighty God my Creator hopeing and assuredly beleiving in
by and through the meritts Death and passion of Jesus Christ my onely Saviour 
and Redeemer to have and obtaine full and Free remission and pardon of all my
sinnes And my body I comitt to the Earth to be decently buried and interred
in the Churchyard of the Parish of Gravesend aforesaid next unto the same place
where my former Loveing Two wives were buried And as for touching and
concerning all my goods Chattells Cattells utensells implements of househould
and househould stuffe Leases ready money and personall Estate whatsoever which
it hath pleased God to endew mee withall I will that the same and every part
part thereof may be and shall be ymediatly after my decease sold vended and
put to sale att and for the best advantage benefitt proffitt as the same may or
can be att and by the Discretion of my Executors in trust herein after named
To and for the use of my Foure Children (That is to say Margarett Pike Mary
Pike Katherine Pike and William Pike And when and soe soon as all my said
Estate shall be put into money by such the sale thereof Then my Will and mynde
is And I doe will and bequeath the same and every part thereof and my ready
money and money due to mee and to be due to mee by bond unto my said Foure
Children to be equally devided betweene them and they to have part and part alike
thereof my Debts Legacies and funerall Expences and necessary charges being
First paid and deducted thereout All which said money and estate my will and
meaning is That the same and every part thereof shall be by my said Executors
in trust from tyme to tyme put out and disposed of upon good security to and for
the use of my said Children part and part alike in my said Childrens names
att Interest to and for their severall and erspective uses and the Interest
thereof to be to the use of my said Children part and part alike And my Will
and meaning is That my said Executors in trust shall not pay unto my said
Children or any of them her his or their part or portion of money by mee to
her him or them herein before bequeathed till but as they shall severally
attaine to their severall and respective Age and Ages of Twenty and One
yeares or but as and untill they shall be severally marryed which shall First
happen And then my Will and mynde is that my said Executors in trust shall
as they shall attaine to their said severall Ages of Twenty and one yeares or at
as and upon their severall and respective dayes of Mariage which shall
First happen pay unto my said Children his her and their severall and
respective part Legacie and portion of money herein before by mee given
And my Will and mynd further is That they my said Executors in trust
shall and may take such part of any of my said Childrens part and porcon
of money as they shall thinke fitt to dispose of for such of my Childrens
putting out or binding out apprentice or otherwise for their maintenace
education or preferment as they shall think fitt And for the more
better and surer putting out and securing att interest any of my said
Childrens part or portion of money and performing and managing of my
Will and intention herein before expressed I will and my meaning is
and I desire that my said Executors in trust will and shall advise with
and take the directions of my Loveing Freind Samuell Bartlett of
Gravesend aforesaid Gentleman And I doe nominate constitute
and appointe my loveing Freinds Laurence Haulker of Gravesent afore-
said Bruer John Cheeseman the elder of the same Brewer John Watkins 
of the same Glasier John Leeds of the same Baker John Castleton of
the same Cordwynder & Nicholas Downing of Milton next Gravesend
							aforesaid


aforesaid Inholder My Executors of this my last Will and Testament But in trust
and to and for the use of my said fower Children as aforesaid And for the using and
disposing of my said Estate To and for the use of my said Children as aforesaid
And for the care and paines of my said Executors in trust I will give and be-
queath unto them The same of Tenn shillings a peece And will and bequeath 
unto my loveing Brother Elias Pike the sume of Five pounds of good and law-
full money of England In witnes whereof I the said John Pike have unto
this my last Will and Testament consisting of Three sheets of Paper written thereof
sett my hand and seale and Published the same to be my last Will and Testament
The day and yeare First in this my prsent last Will and Testament written
John Pike Signed Sealed and Delivered and published and declared by the said
John Pike the Testator to be his last Will and Testament in the prsence of 
Frances Harris Sa: Bartlett The marke of Thomas Harla

This is the Codicil annexed to the Will of me John Pike wherein I
desire and my Will and meaning further is That in case any of my said Fower
Children in this my Prsent will and Testament hereunto Annexed shall dye and
depart this life before hee shee or they shall attaine unto and accomlish her his or
their severall and respective Ages in this my said Will menconed or before his
her or their severall and respective dayes of Mariage Then I will that the
part Legacie and portion of him her or them that shall soe dye shall goe remaine 
and be equally devided betweene such of my said Children as shall Survive In
Witnes whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the Fourth day of 
August Anno Dni One Thousand Six Hundred Sixty Two And in the Fourteenth
yeare of the Raigne of our most gratious Soveraigne Lord King Charles the Second
that now is over England John Pike Signed Sealed published and declared
by the said John Pike to be Codicill annexed to and part of the Last Will and Testamt
of him the said John Pike in the prsence of Francis Harris The marke of
