In the Name of God Amen
I John Durell a Native of Brunswich in Germany and 
a private Soldier in the Grenadier Company Honorable
Companys Bengal European Regiment being perfect in
mind and memory thanks be given unto God calling unto
recollection the mortality of my Soul knowing there is a
time appointed for all Men once to die do make this my
last Will and Testament first I recommend my Soul unto
the hands of Almighty God that gave it nothing doubting
but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same
again through him who gave it and as for touching all
worldly affairs wherein it hath pleased the almighty God
to bless me in this life I bequeath of the same as follows
Item to Ouller Anderson a native of Copenhagen Denmark
and an ordinary Seaman belonging to His Majestys Ship
Volage and to Peter Jansen a Native of Christiansand in
Norway all my property personal and Real together with



all pay arrears of pay Clothing ?? that may be due to me at
the time of my decease revoking all former Wills made by
me Item to the said Ouller Anderson and Peter Jansen 
the amount of all Wills bequeathed to me by several men of
the Honorable Companys Bengal European Regiment deceased
the orginal Copies of which I have lodged in their hands I declare
this to be my last Will and Testament at the General Hospital
Welkoreden near Batavia island of Java this thirtieth day of
October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred &
fifteen  John Durell his mark  Witness  John Landy  Pat
Mathews Surgeon Genl Hospital

On 13th June 1817 admon with the Will annexed of
the Goods Chattels & Credits of John Durell late a private in
the Grenadier Company of Bengal European Regiment in
the East Indies deced was granted to Peter Jansen one of the universal Legatees having been first sworn
duly to admr
