In the name of God Amen
I Thomas Holworthy of the Citty of Bristoll gen beinge sicke in body
but of good memory thankes be to God Doe therefore make this my
last Will and Testament in forme followinge (That is to day) whereas
I have caused the Revertion of severall Coppiehold Tenements lyeing
and beinge within my Mannor of Rowberow in the County of Somersett
to be granted by Copie of Court Roll accordinge to the custome of the said Man
nor to eight severall freinds of mine for theire lives in trust for my
Executors and Administrators Amongst which the Revertion of one
Tenement in the tenure of one William Lytheatt who then held and ?et
houldeth the same for terme of his life was granted to Thomas Percyvall
Esquire and Nicholas Southcott gen two of my said freinds for theire lives
and the life of the longest liver of them Successively As by the Court
Rolles of the said Mannor And one Deed Indented beareinge date the first
day of May in the yeare of our lord god One thousand sixe hundred fiftie
and two made betweene those my said Eight freinds of thone part and
me of the other part more at large appeareth And whereas I am
bound by Bond to pay Two hundred pounds to the use of my wife in case
she shall survive me Nowe my will and meaneinge is that such monyes as
shall be raysed by the exchange of the lives of the said Thomas Percivall and
Nicholas Southcott in the said Tenement of the said William Lytheatt shall goe to
my wife in satisfaction of the said Bond of twoo hundred pounds and in the
meanetyme that she be permitted to take the profitts thereof duringe the same
Revercon estates to her owne use Item my Will and meaneinge alsoe is That
my sonne Thomas Holworth shall have to his owne use all such monyes as
shall be raysed and made by the exchange of the rest of the lives for which the
same Coppyhould Tenements were granted in Revercon as aforesaide The
said monyes as the same shall arise to be paid to my loveinge freinds John
Haggatt Esquire Francis Yeamans gen and my loveinge brother in lawe
James Crofte Merchant to be by them imployed accordinge to theire discretions
for the benefitt of my said sonne And in the meanetyme my said freinds to
stand trusted with the same Revercon estates for the benefitt of my said sonne
and the heires of his body lawfully to bee begotten And for default of such heires
for the benefitt of Richard, Annd, and Mary three of the Children of my said
brother in lawe James Crofte theire Executors and Administrators and
it is my desire and meaneinge That my wife as often as there shall be oper
tunity for the exchange of any of the said Revercon Estates shall at the ??
?????? of the said John Haggatt Francis Yeamans and James Crofte or
any of them keepe Courts and take surrenders of the same Revercon ????
soe granted in Trust as aforesaid or any of them and grant such estate and
estates in lieu thereof as shall be contracted for in exchange for ???????
by the said John Haggatt Francis Yeamans and James Crofte or any
of them And that my said wife after my decease shall on request ??????
bound to the said John Haggatt Francis Yeamans and James ?????
for the doeing thereof Whereas I have Conveyed such Tenements
and lands whereof I am seized in fee in the County of Gloucr T?????
my selfe for life The remaynder to my wife for her life The remayn????


heires of my body begotten on her the Revercon expectant to my right heires
I doe nowe will and devise the said Revercon expectant to James Crofte sonne 
of my said brother in lawe James Crofte his heires and assignes forever And
I will that such Tenements and lands whereof I am possessed or interested for
anyterme or number of yeares determineable on any life or lives in the said
County of Gloucr shall from and after my decease be held and enioyed by my
sonne Thomas Holworthy and the heires of his body lawfully to bee begotten
And in default of such heires by the said James Crofte the sonne his heires and
assignes and that my Executrix shall doe all Acts and things requisite for the
better settleinge thereof to be enioyed accordingly All the rest and residue of my
Goods Cattells Chattles and estate whatsoever, my debts and legacies beinge
paid and funerall expences discharged I give and devise unto my said wife
whom I make my full and whole Executrix of this my last Will and Testa-
-ment Provided allwayes that if my said wife shall after my decease re-
-fuse to become bound to the said John Haggatt Franncis Yeamans and
James Crofte as aforesaid That then and in such case my will is that shee
shall not have any benefitt out of the said Tenement of the said William
Lytheatt but that the said Thomas Percivall and Nicholas Southcott shall
stand trusted therewith for the benefitt of my sonne and the heires of his body
lawfully to bee begotten And for defaults of such heires for the benefitt of the said
Richard Mary and Anne Crofte theire Executors and Administrators And in
such case my will is that my wife shall be Executrix only duringe the minority
of my said sonne and in trust for him and to his use and shee not to have any
benefitt by this my will In wittnes whereof I the said Thomas Holworthy have
to this my last Will and Testament conteyned in theis fower sheetes of paper
to every of which I have subscribed my name, put my hand, and seale, the
third day of Aprill in the yeare of our lord god One thousand sixe hundred Fifty
and fower Tho Holworthy  Sealed and published in the presence of Joh Hag-
-gatt Fra: Yeamans John Gwin Hum: Holloway

This will was proved att Westminster before the Judges
for Probate of Wills and granting Admtons lawfully authorized the
fifth day of June in the yeare of our lord God One thousand sixe hundred
Fiftie and fower By the Oath of [blank] the Relict and sole Executrix named
in the said Will To whom Admdcon of all and singular the goods Chattells
and Debts of the said Deceased was Committed, She beinge first sworne truely
to Admster the same
