Thomas Pike and Edward Wellman, 1856

Thomas Pike Senr                    to               Edward Wellman
Memorial of an Indenture bearing the Thirty first day of December
one thousand eight hundred and fifty six whereby Thomas Pike Senior
of Carbonear in the Island of Newfoundland Planter for and in the
consideration of Two pounds six Shillings currency the receipt of which
is acknowledged Did bargain sell assign and transfer unto Edward
Wellman of Carbonear Planter "All that piece and parcel of Land
situate at the South side of Carbonear aforesaid being part of the lands
and premises lately belonging to Francis Pike and bounded
North by the Main Road South by James Forward East by Charles
Pike and West by Timothy Pike together with all rights titles interest
uses and privileges and emoluments thence arising and thereunto
belonging or in any [wise] appertaining" To Have and to Hold unto the
said Edward Wellman his heirs executors administrators and assigns
Thomas Pike Senr his x mark (seal) Witness Joseph Peters N.P.
    I hereby certify that I have on this seventh day of May one
thousand eight hundred and fifty nine administered the oath to
Joseph Peters who swears that he saw Thomas Pike Senr put his mark
to and seal and deliver the Deed of which the foregoing is a Memorial
to Edward Wellman on the day of the date thereof and the same as in due
course hereby actually Registered by me on this day. Given under my
hand at the Registrars Office Harbor Grace this Nineteenth day of May
one thousand eight hundred and fifty nine A.D. 1859
