In the Name of God Amen
I Jacob Pike Mariner now belonging to his Majesty's Ship
the Cumberland Captain James Stewart Commander
being in bodily health and of sound and disposing mind and
memory and considering the perrils and dangers of the 
Seas and other uncertaintys of this Transitory life (Doe for
avoiding controversies after my decease) make publish and
Declare this my Last Will and Testament in manner following
(that is to say) First I recomend my Soul to God that gave
it And my Body I commit to the Earth or Sea as it shall please
God to Order And as for and concerning all my Worldly Estate
I give Bequeath and dispose thereof as followeth (That 
is to say) after all my just Debts and Funerall Charges
and expences (if any such there shall happen to be at the time
of my decease) are fully paid and satisfy'd Then as to all such
Wages Summ and Summs of Money Lands Tenements 
Goods Chattels and Estae whatsoever as shall be anyways
due owing or belonging unto me at the time of my decease
						      I


I doe give Devise and Bequeath the same unto my dearly
beloved Wife Bridget Pike of Greenwich in the County of
Kent and after her decease I doe give Devise and bequeath
the same to Mary Greenfield of the Town and County aforesaid
Widow and I doe hereby nominate and appoint the said
Bridget Pike Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and
Testament hereby Revokeing all former and other Wills
Testaments and Deeds of Gift by me at any time heretofore
made And I doe Ordain and Ratify these presents to stand 
and be for and as my only Last Will and Testament In
Wittness whereof to this my said Will I have set my hand
and Seal the third day of July Anno Dom 1740
 and in the fourteenth
 year of the Reign of
 his Majesty King
 George the second over
 Great Britain &c

Signed Sealed Published Declared in the presence of us
by the said Jacob Pike as and for his Last Will and
Testament who have hereunto subscribed our names as
Witnesses in the presence of the said Testator Js Stewart

This Will was proved at London the fourth day of
November in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven
Hundred Forty one before the Worshipfull Robert Chapman
Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipfull John
Bettesworth Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of 
the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by 
the Oath of Bridget Pike Widow the Relict of the deceased 
and Sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom Adcon
was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and 
Credits of the said deceased being sworne duely to administer
