This is the last Will & Testament of me
Susanna Lee Widow of Portsmouth in the
County of Southampton being of sound mind &
understanding  And hereby dispose of my
goods effects & property in manner & form
following  In the first place I direct all
my just debts & proving of this my Will to
be paid & satisfied by my Executor herein after
named  I also give & bequeath unto Mrs
Mary Pike Wd of my late Brother Timothy Pike
the sum of One hundred pounds & case of her
death to be equally divided to her Children then
alive  Also I give & bequeath unto my Sister
Mary Wife of Christopher Spencer of Newfoundland
the sum of One hundred pounds & in case of her
death to be equally divided to her Children then
alive  And to my Niece Ann daughter of my
late Brother Edwd Pike I give & bequeath the
sum of twenty pounds  All which legacies
I direct to be paid to the respective Legatees
soon as conveniently may be after my decease
I also give to the said Mary Wd of my Brother
Timothy my brown silk gown best worked apron
& ruffles  likewise my silver coffee pot & silver
salver  To my Nephew Timothy Son of my late
Brother Timothy my clock  to my Niece Mary
daughter of my said Brother Timothy my best blue
& white set of tea china & one dozen of napkins
& a large table cloth marked B & a silver taper
candlestick  to my Nephew William Son of my
said Brother Timothy a mourning ring given me by



The late mr Richd Lee & two silver table spoons
marked L  I give to Rebecca Wife of my Nephew
Timothy Pike my best black silk gown, & petty coat
I give to Susanna daughter of Sir John Carter
my sunning coller counterpane or quilt
I give to Susanna Brady servant of my late
Brother Timothy five guineas  I give to my
Niece Juliana Wife of Lt Thomas Edwards
the remainder of my cloaths, household furniture
plate linnen & china, that may be at my death
The rest, residue of my effects monies & debts that
may be due to me at my decease I give & 
bequeath to my Brothers Frances Pike Moses
Pike (or in case of their dying before me to be
equally shared to their children or child alive at their
death) To the child or children alive at my
decease of my late Brother John Pike & to
the Child or children alive at my decease of 
my late Brother William Pike and my Neice
Juliana Wife of Mr Thos Edwards share and
share alike  her in case of her death before me
to her child or children  but my meaning is
that my said Neice Juliana to be equal with
her Uncles & Father  but not to share as a
Child besides with her Brothers & Sisters
And I do hereby nominate, appoint and
constitute Sir John Carter of Portsmouth
   sole Executor to this my last Will and
Testament  Hereby revoking and making 
void all former Wills or Codicils by me made



at any time heretofore  I the said Susanna
Lee the Testatrix have to this my last
Will & Testament set my hand & seal
this 28th May 1798

date in the presence of us

	Isaac Ransom

Whereas since the making of my beforementioned
Will my Executor Sir John Carter therein named has
departed this life Now I do hereby in his stead
nominate constitute and appoint Thomas Edwards of
Gosport in the County of Southampton a Lieutenant in
his Majestys Royal Navy The Reverend Russell
Scott of Portsmouth and Samuel Willson of Southsea
Lodge in the Island of Portsea Gentleman joint Executors
of my said before written Will And I do hereby
declare this present Writing to be a Codicil to my said
Will and that the same shall be taken as part
thereof and do confirm my said Will in every
particular thereof In Testimony whereof I have to
this Codicil set my Hand and Seal the twenty seventh
day of June 1808

On the twenty eighth day of September one
thousand eight hundred and eight Administration
of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits
of the within named Testatrix Susanna Lee
was granted and committed to Thomas Edwards
one of the Executors named in the within written
 Codicil to the Will of the said Testatrix
(Power being reserved for the Reverend Russell
Scott and Samuel Willson the other Executors
to come in at any time and prove the said Will)
and the said Thomas Edwards was sworn
Executor of the said Will and Codicil accordingly
in due form and at the same time made Oath
that all the Goods Chattels and Credits of the
said deceased do not amount in Value to
the sum of six hundred Pounds
