In the Name of God Amen
I George Duke of Sarson in the County of Southton Esqr being in good
health but considering the uncertainty of this life do make and
ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme
following (that is to say) First I Comend my Soul unto Almighty God
that gave it and my body to the Earth to be decently buryed at the
discretion of my Executor herein named And as for the Setting and
disposeing of Such Worldly Estate as the Lord in Mercy hath lent
me I do will and dispose thereof as followeth Imprimis I give to the
poor of this parish of Amport in the County aforesaid five pounds
Item I give unto my son George any Book or Books that may
anyway advance him in his learning now in my Study Item
I give unto my Eldest Daughter Frances her own Mothers
Pearle Necklace but if she    happen to dye before she
marryes then my Will is my daughter Selenah shall have it but
if she dye also before she marrys then to goe to my daughter Mary
Item I give to my daughters Selenah and Mary aforesaid four broad
peices of Gold to each of them which were their Mothers Item I give
unto my Son George five pounds to buy him Mourning Item I give
to my Son Charles five pound to buy him Mourning Item I give unto
my Brother Newman five pounds to buy him mourning Item
I give unto my dear and beloved Ne?? Katherine Weymans late of
Romsbury Widow fifty pounds to put her self in Mourning And I do
also forgive the said Katherine all money due to me and do order my
Executor to give her a General Release if she doth desire the same Item
I give bequeath and devise unto my eldest Son John and to his heirs for
ever all and Singular all and Singular the Messuages Lands Tenements
and Hereditaments whereof I the said George Duke or any other
person for my use is or standeth seized and I do hereby give and
bequeath unto my said Son John all and Singular the rest of my



personall Estate whatsoever in Trust nevertheless that my said Son
John shall by and out of the said real Estate and peronsall Estate
pay and discharge all my Just Debts and Funerall Charges and expences
and also pay and dishcarge all and every Such Legacy and Legacyes Sume
and Sums of money as are before and herein after by me given and
bequeathed that is to Say I give and bequeath unto my said eldest
daughter Frances the Sume of Six hundred pounds and Mourning
Item I give and bequeath unto my said daughter Selenah the
Sume of five hundred pounds and Mourning Item I give and bequeath unto my
youngest daughter Mary the Sume of five hundred pound and
Mourning Item I give unto my Grandson George the Sume of One
hundred pound lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my Said
Son John Duke my full and Sole Executor of this my last Will and
Testament And I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me made
declaring this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof
I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this twentyeth day of August

Probatum fuit [this paragraph continues in latin to grant probate at London on
3 February 1721]
