In the name of god Amen The xxi th daye of the monnthe of
January yn the yere of our Lorde god a thousande five hundrethe fiftie and nyne I John Pykes theld
of the pishe of alhollows yn the Cittie of Bristoll white sopmaker beinge sicke yn boddie but hole of
mynde and of good and parfect remembrance Laude and prais be to allmightie god doe make
this my present Testamente and laste will yn manner and forme followinge First I commend my
Soule ynto the hands of almightie god my heavenly father by his Sonne Jesus Christ my Savior
and redemer And my boddie to be buried yn my parrishe Churche aforsaide where hit shall please
my Executor to appointe Item i give and bequeath to the poorest Allmeshouses yn the Cittie
of Brystolle x??l of Lawfull monney of Englande to be distributed amongest amongest them yn
such sorte and mannor as my saide Executors and the ovrseers of this my laste will and Testament
shall thinke meete and conveniente and partely by myne appointemente that ys to saye to my
poore christen brothren and Sistern of the Almes house yn the longerowe beinge xxiii yn ????
?s apece to be given to them withyn ii howers after my buriall the rest of the said x??l to be
given to the poorest of the Almes houses accordinge to the discression of my ovrseers Item I give
and bequeath to my moste naturall and lovinge mother Maude Pykes my spice gilt dishe and the
best gold Ringe that I have and she to choose hit amongest all my ringes And further I give unto
her of my fyne halff puke cloth so moche meas??? as she w?ll demande to make her a Cassocke
Item I give to my mother yn lawe as moche of the same half puke clothe as will ??ue to make
her a Cassocke and a prettie Cuppwith a Couer both PER?ell gilte unto the which she alwaies
hath had a mynde unto Item I give unto my Syster Chris??y a Cassocke Clothe of the same
half fyne puke cloth Item I give to my brother John Pykes wyef of the bridge a Cassocke clothe
of the saide half fine puke cloth Item I give and bequeath to Alice Pykes my wief A Cassocke clothe
of the saide half fyne puke cloth The residue of the saide half fyne pece of puke cloth which
containeth x? yeardes yn the hole I give with all my harte to my lovinge frende John Carre and
I desire my said wyef to goe as night with others not marynge theire garments as there may
be so moche Leste as will make hym a Caape Item I give and bequeath to my brother Walter

to my brother Waulter Pykes and to my brother John Care and to my brother John Rowlande iii?
yardes a pece to make evry one of them a gowne at the pce of x??? the yarde And yf they will
will weare clothe of a higher price then I will that hit be at theire owne charges Item I
give to my Syster yn lawe John Rowlandes wyef a Cassocke clothe of the same price Item
I give to Marie Wigmore and to Hellen Hellikaer and to Anne Byss? as moche clothe as
will make to evry of them a Cassocke at such price as my saide Executor shall thinke convenient
Item I give and bequeath to Willm Helliker and to Willm Wigmore and to John Pykes as moche
clothe as will make evry of them a Cote at suche price as shall seeme good to myne executor
Item I give to my s???te Willm Yate a cote clothe of the same price Item I give & bequeath
to my brother John Pykes my best Scarlet gowne Item I give to my brother Walter
Pykes my puke gowne faced with foynes and edged with velvet Item I give to John
Rowlande my best puke gowne faced with damaske and my ridinge Cote of ratts coller 
garded with velvet Item I give & bequeath ^ Item I give and bequeath to Thomas Cutt       ^ to my brother John Care my
ii other Cotes garded with velvet and ii paire of my best hosen Lyned with ?ar??et          best cote of unwatred chamblet
and ii yardes of fyne marble cloth that coste me x?? the yarde Item I give more to the      garded wit velvet & stitched
saide Thomas Cutte ii other paire of hosen even the next best of my hosen my fryse cote     with silke
pointed at the syde and my best cloth cappe or the next best which Lyketh hym moste Item
I give and bequeath my other fryse Cotte to the lame boye at Mychaell hill to be made
meet for hym at the coste and charge of myne executor a paire of Newe hose and shoes



And all the reste of my coorse apparrell as clockes Cotes dubletts hose and ?howes I will yt
they be dystributed amongest the poorest people at the dyscression of the said overseers of this
my laste will and testamente Item I give to mysteres Peppwall half a yarde of ?ram??ed velvet

my wyef whome I make constitute and ordaine sole executrix of this my last will & testament
