In the name of god amen The first Day of August In the yere of our Lord god
a thowsande fyve hundred twenty and nyne I Roger Dawys of Bristowe mrchannt in the diocs of
Wurceter being hole of mynde and of good remembrannce thanks be to god ordeyn and dispoase this my
pnt testament conteynyng my Last wille First and before all things I geve and bequeth my soule unto
almighty god my body to be buried wtin the queyer of the Connentual house of the white freres
in Bristowe before the high awter under my stone of marbyll there by me ordeyned and leyde yf
it shal fortune me to dye or wtin Bristowe Item I geve and bequeth unto the moder Churche
of our Lady of Worcestur ii s Item I geve and bequeth unto the high awter of saint Leonards
Church in Bristowe xx s Item I geve more unto the rePARacions of the said church xx s Item I geve
and bequethe to evry order of freres wtin Bristowe forto be at my burying monethes mynde and
yeres mynde for their labour and to pray for my soule fourtye shillings And also unto every ordre
of freres aforsaid forto singe a Trentall of masses wtin their placs for my soule at my dePARting
every ordre of the said Freres tenne shillings Item I geve and bequeth to the preest at Lafford
gate in Bristowe to say thre masses for my soule in the said chapell there within vi daies after 
my deceas xii d more to every pour man and woman within the almeshouse there iiii d a pece
Item I geve and bequeth unto the Renovacion of the pypis PERteynyng to the white freres and
saint Jones Condyte oon Tonne of Iron Item I geve and bequeth unto the maisters and wardeyns
of the Crafte of Taillours in Bristowe to the use of the same Crafte xx s Item I geve & bequeth
unto the maisters of Tuckers to the use of the same Crafte tenne shillings Item I geve and bequeth
unto the maisters of Wevers to the use of the same Crafte x s Item I geve and bequeth to 
the maisters of Dyers to the use of the same Crafte vi s viii d Item I geve and bequeth unto the
maisters of Shermen to the use of the same Crafte vi s viii d Item I geve and bequeth unto the
Abbot of saint Austens in Bristowe to the use of the newe bilding and warke there a tonne
of Iron Item I geve and bequeth unto the Abbas of Amysbury iii s iiii d And to every lady wtin
the same house for to singe masse and dirige wt note and to pray for my soule xii d And also to 
my ladies Chapleyns to the nombr of foure preests to singe masse and dirige there there every of
them viii d And also to the Clerk of the said Abbey for Ringing of the bells and to pray for my
soule ii s Item I geve and bequeth unto the Priour of Benton and his Covent to the use of the
said house a tonne of Iron Item I geve and bequeth unto the por prisoners of Newgate xii d in
newe white bred to be delivered unto them afore none every fryday during a hole yere there


next after my deceas Item I geve and bequeth unto every srvnnt in my house xx s Item I geve and bequeth unto
my godsonne Roger Dale xl s Item I geve and bequeth unto the maister          of the kalendars and
his brethern to the use of the same place a pipe of Iron to be praid for Item I geve and bequeth unto the Chapell
upon the brigge a pipe of Iron Item I geve and bequeth unto the maister of the Gaunts and his brethern 
to the use of the house foure pounds in money to be praid for And also where as I the forsaid Roger Dawys have
delivered unto the forsaid maistern and brethern oon hundred pounds sterlinge as it doth appere by an obligacon
under the Covents seale to be paid to the priour of the white Freres yerely every quarter xxv s upon the fonte 
in the Gaunts by the howre of nyne of the Clok afore none and the howre of thre at the Clock at after none And
soe to contynue and to be paid to the prior of the white freres and his assignes as they have begon by my life from
the yere of our lorde god a thousande fyve hundred twenty and nyne And from the fest of saint michell tharchangel
the same Date till twenty yeres be full ended and the same hundred pounds be full paide Item I geve and bequeth
unto the prior and Covent of the same white freres toward the RePARacions of the same church and high awlter
tenne pounds and a vestment of blak velwet to the value of foure pounds the said vestment to be bought Also I 
will that they shalhave thre pounds forto singe dirige and masse every day during the moneth after my deceas
And I will that my monethes and yeres mynde be kept in the forsaid place of the white freres Item I geve and
bequeth unto frere John Massye prior of the said house foure pounds to pray for my soule Item I geve and bequeth
unto my daughter Joane mynchyn of Amysbury tenne pounds Item I geve and bequeth unto my daughter Agnes
wife unto Roger Saunders tenne pounds and a gilt goblet Item I geve and bequeth unto my daughter Joane
wife unto John Rowlande tenne pounds and a gilt goblet Item I geve and bequeth unto my daughter Elizabeth
wife unto Robert Conley tenne pounds and a gilt goblet with the Cover the which thre gobletts I doo
daily occupie in my house soo I will that they be delivered unto my forsaid daughters Item I geve and bequeth
unto Joane Stayner my srvnt twenty pounds Item I geve and bequeth unto my Neece Joane at Coventre wife 
unto Humfrey Reynolde fyve pounds And also unto her husbande Humfrey Reynolde fyve pounds Item I geve
and bequeth unto my daughter Julian my garden ioynyng unto my house wherin I Dwell at the making of
this my last wille for terme of her life And after her deceas the remaynder therof unto Elizabeth my
youngest Doughter for terme of her life And after her deceas the Remaynder to the prior and Covent of the
Connentual house of the white freres in Bristowe and to their successours for the terme of foure score
and nynetene yeres to thentent that the priour and the Covent wt the Rent of the said gardyn shal
kepe an honest obite for my soul my wife my children and all xpen soules during the forsaid yeres And to geve at the
said obite to por people in bred xii d And if they fulfill not my said wille erly as here is declared Then I will that
the said gardeyn shall goo unto saint Leonards churche in Bristowe they to fulfill my will Item I geve and
bequeth unto my forsaid daughter Julian thre score pounds in money and tenne tonne of Iron and a gurdell
of goldsmythes werke of her moders and two skarlet gownes oon furred and another lyned wt silke and
purfelyd with velwet and a paire of silver bedys Also all my housholde belonging to my Chambers that
is to say fetherbedds blsters pelowes shets and all napery blanketts Coverletts borders hangings
panys and all other necessaries PERteynyng to my hall unbequethed Item I geve and bequeth unto my
daughter Elizabeth the yonger thre score pounds in money and tenne tonne of Iron tenne paire of shets
two fetherbedds two bolsters two pelowes and my seconde best of my Coverletts a paire of blanketts
and thre lyned gownes wt silke and purfelyd wt velwet a gurdell wt a deme wt a Cors and a paire of beds
of Corall gawdyd wt silver and gilte And I will that my forsaid daughters Julian and Elizabeth the
younger departe equally bitwene them both all the stuffe that longeth to my Bottrye that is to say potyngers
platters sawsers Candelsticks basons yewers wt all other thinges PERteynyng to my said buttrye And also
my kechyn that is to say Crocks pannys possenetts brochis wt all other necessaries PERteynyng to my said
kechyn And all the residue of her moders apparel as gownes kyrtells cappes of velwet both longe and
rounde and fronteletts I will that my said daughter Julian and Elizabeth the yonger doo dePARte then
equally betwene them both every oon as nygh as they can Also all the residue of my goodes not bequethed
I geve and bequeth to my said daughters Julian and Elizabeth the yonger And I will that they shall equaly
departe it betwene them both in equall porcions as nygh as they can and they to doo for my soule and all
spen soules as they shall thinke moost best forto be doon And I make my forsaid daughters Julian and
Elizabeth the yonger my executours and executrix And if it shall happen any of my said daughters to
dye or decesse before the age of xviii yeres That then I will that the half of my said bequests to her soo
decessing be distributed by myn executours and overseers for the soule of her so being decessed And the
other halfe of her bequests to be delivered unto the prior of the white freres for the tyme being for ornamets
unto the high awter of the said place forto be bought And for masses orysons and prayers there to be don
by the priour and his brethern of the said house and Covent aswele for the soule of me the forsaid Roger
Dawys and of my late wife as for the soules of my said daughters And to a white frere to singe for me
and them in the forsaid place at the high awter as longe tyme as the oon halfe of suche money & mrchann
dizes shall com to their hands of the children Julian and Elizabeth the yonger bequest yf it shal happen
or please god that they shall channge their lyves or they be maried And I will that my goodes Remayn
in my house nowe where I dwell untill my daughters come to their full age of xviii yeres and then to
be delivered unto them And I the forsaid Roger Dawes geve myn estate of the yeres of my house which
nowe I well in at the making of this my last wille to Julyan my daughter And after her deceas unto
Elizabeth my youngest daughter and they to paye yerely for the Rent of the said house to the Chamberleyn
for the tyme being to the use of the towne thre pounds sterlinge And I the forsaid Roger Dawys make &
ordeyn maister John Hutton Draper for the first to be my overseer to whom I geve for his labour v l


And for the seconde overseer I ordeyn and make John Rowlande marchannt to whom I geve for hys labour
fyve pounds And for the thirde overseer I ordeyn and make Joane Stayner my servant to whom I geve for her
labour fyve pounds And that my said Daughters Julyan and Elizabeth my younger daughters ???????fly brought
up aswele in good maner and womanly behaviour as in ??????? And if it happen I will by this my present
testament the aforenamed governors or any of them forto decesse and dye before the said Julia and Elizabeth
my daughters come to their full age of xviii yeres forsaid or if the said governours or any of them will not
???????ly instructe and good manr and womanly behavour bringe up my said daughters Julian & Elizabeth
according to there degrees and substannce Or the said governors or any of them by ful????????????? collusion
????? ???? dysceyt or otherwise will inforce my forsaid daughters Julian and Elizabeth ????????? them
otherwise then their degrees is which god defence Then I will that my said daughters Julian & Elizabeth
be at their free liberties forto dePARte from the forenamed governours or any of them and to be wt suche
PERsone or PERsones as they or any of them and their frends shal thinke moost expedious And I will that
my said executours and overseers shalhave yerely of my goods to the behove of my said daughters Julian
and Elizabeth for their fynding custodye and maynteynyng aswele for their instruction and ???????
bringing up unto the tyme that they shall come to the forsaid age of xviii yeres or more if they shall
thinke if for their wourship and to them expedient And also for their table clothing and expenses and
for the wages of such PERsones as shal wayte upon them to the forsaid age or more every yere twenty
pounds and more if ??de be?to be taken of my goodes Also I will that myn executours and overseers
beforsaid see all my legacs that is to sey funeralls legacs bequests my debts and expenses paid And I the
for said Roger Dawys by this my pnt testament and last will utterly revoke anull and refuse
any and every other testament or wille by me made or declared concernyng any premisses or any
PARcells of the premisses forsaid bequethed or geven be it by mowth writing or any otherwise at
any tyme before the making of this my pnt testament and last wille the whiche I will shall
stande in full effect and execucion and noon other In witnesse hereof I the forsaid Roger Dawys
have putte my seall to this my pnt testament and last wille and subscribed my name These
being witnesse maister Thomas Sylke vicar Richard Pryn and John Walshe mrchannts of Bristow
