This is the last Will and Testament
of me Elizabeth Pike of Christchurch in the County of Southampton Widow
I give and bequeath to my son James Pike all my household furniture
plate linen and china chich I may die possessed of for his absolute
use and benefit To my Granddaughter Elizabeth Pike I give my wee???
apparel and my metal watch To my Grandson James Pike I give my
silver watch and gold seal To my Grandson John Pike I give my capunctal
watch And as to all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my real
and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature
or quality soever which I now am or at my death may be entitled to I give
devise and bequeath the same unto and to the use of my friends Samuel
Bayly of Churstchurch in the County of Southampton Gentleman and


Abraham Pike of Christchurch aforesaid Grocer their heirs executors admini-
istrators and assigns upon and for the following trusts (taht is to say) upon
Trust that they the said Samuel Bayly and Abraham Pike and the survivor
of them their or his heirs executors administrators or assigns do and shall
with all convenient speed after my decease call in and convert into money
all such parts of my estate as shall not consist of money and out of the monies
that shall first come to hand and be received pay and satisfy my just debts
and my funeral and testamentary charges and expences And do and shall
lay out and invest the surplus or residue of the monies to arise from my
said estate after answering the purposes aforesaid in the name or names
of them the said trustees or the survivor of them his executors administra-
tors or assigns in some of the public Stocks or Funds or at interest upon real
securities And my will is that the said Samuel Bayly and Abraham
Pike their executors administrators and assigns shall stand possessed of
all and singular the monies stocks funds and securities which shall be laid
out and invested by them as aforesaid and the dividends interest and
annual produce thereof upon and for the trusts intents and purposes fol-
lowing that is to say upon Trust that they the said Samuel Bayly and
Abraham Pike and the survivor of them his executors administrators or
assigns do and shall of their and his own authority and discretion from time
to time when and as often as they shall see necessary pay and apply the
annual interest and proceeds arising from such trust monies for and towards
the education preferment apprenticing advancement or benefit of all or
any of the children of my said son James Pike as shall be living at my
decease And when and so soon as the youngest of the children of my said son
James as shall be living at the time of my decease shall have attained his
or her age of twenty one years Then upon Trust as to the rest residue and
remainder of the stocks funds and securities that shall not have been
expended in the education and advancement of the children of my said son
as aforesaid to divide the same equally between and amongst all and
every the child and children of my son James Pike living at my death and
lawfully begotton on the body of his present Wife share and share alike
provided always that in case all the children of my said Son James Pike
should die under twenty one years of age then I give devise and bequeath the
said monies stocks funds and securities unto my said trustees upon Trust to
pay the dividends interest and annual proceeds thereof unto my said Son
James Pike for the term of his natural life And immediately after his
decease then upon Trust to divide the same between and amongst all and
every the child and children then living of the said Abraham Pike begotten
on the body of his present Wife Margaret share and share alike provided
also and my will is that the said Samuel Bayly and Abraham Pike or
the survivor of them or their executors administrators and assigns shall
not be answerable or accountable to my said son James or to any other per-
son interested under this my will for any sum or sums of money laid
out and expended by them in the education preferment apprenticeing
advancement or benefit of any of the children of my said son James but
that my said trustees shall be answerable only for his and their own acts
and defaults I nominate and appoint the said Samuel Bayle and Abraham
Pike joint Executors of this my will And I hereby revoke all former wills
by me made In witness whereof I the said Elizabeth Pike the testatrix
have to each sheet of this my will contained in three sheets of paper sub-
scribed my name this twenty third day of July in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and forty five   Elizabeth Pike
Signed by the said Elizabeth Pike the testatrix in our joint presence who
also affixed our signatures hereto in her presence and in the presence of
each other  Hy Pain of Christchurch Hants Gentn   John Lemmon
of Christchurch Hants Saddler &c


This is a Codicil to be added to and taken as part of the
last will and Testament of me Elizabeth Pike which bears date on or
about the twenty third day of July one thousand eight hundred and forty
five whereas I have given the Trustees named in my said will all the
residue of my monies stocks funds and securities for money that shall remain
in their hands after answering certain purposes in my said will men-
tioned upon Trust that my said trustees or the survivor of them his exec-
utors or administrators do and shall divide the same equally between and
amongst all and every the child and children of my Son James Pike when
and so soon as the youngest of the children of my said Son James Pike shall have
attained his or her age of twenty one years Now I do hereby revoke the bequest
in my said will contained to the children of my said Son James so far as
respects the time of distribution only and do hereby direct my said trustees
or the survivor of them his executors or administrators immediately on
Mary Ann the Daughter of my said Son James attaining her age of
twenty one years to divide the said monies stocks funds and securities for
money equally between and amongst all the children of my said son James
as shall be then living share and share alike And in case there shall happen
to be any child or children of my said Son by his present wife younger than
Mary Ann hereinbefore named I direct my said trustees to retain his or her
share until he or she shall attain his or her age of twenty one years And I
do hereby ratify and confirm my said will in all other respects In witeness
whereof I have hereto set my hand this thirtieth day of July one thousand
eight hundred and forty five   Elizabeth Pike   Signed by the said Elizabeth

Proved at London with a Codicil 13th Septr 1847 before the Judge by the
Oaths of Samuel Bayly and Abraham Pike the Executors to whom Admon
was granted having been first sworn by Commission duly to administer.
