This is the last Will
and Testament of me George Young of Ramsdown in the Isle of
Wight in the County of Southampton Gentleman made this twenty
second day of June One thousand eight hundred & eight First I give
to my Goddaughter Ann Orril the wife of William James Moore
Esquire a Captain in His Majestys twenty seventh Regiment of Foot
(late Ann Orril Pike Spinster) the Sum of Fifty pounds of lawful
money current in Great Britain I give to John Ward of East Cowes
in the Isle of Wight aforesaid Esquire the Sum of One hundred pounds
of like Money And I do hereby will & direct that the said Legacies
shall be respectively paid within three months next after my decease
And as to for & concerning all my Leasehold Estates and all the rest
residue & remainder of my Goods Chattels Stock Corn Grain Hay Cattle
Implements & Utensils of husbandry ready Money Debts & Securities for
Money & all other my personal Estate whatsoever & wheresoever & of what
nature kind or quality soever the same may be I give leave & bequeath the same
unto the said John Ward his Exors Admors & Assigns ^ shall & do as soon 		^ Upon this special trust
as conveniently may be after my decease either by public Auction or			  & confidence that he my
Private Contract Sell & dispose of all my said Leasehold Estates			  said Trustee his Exors
household Goods Stock  of Corn Hay Cattle and Implements and				  or Admors
Utensils of husbandry and all other my personal Estate not consisting
of money and convert the same into ready money and shall & do place
out & invest the money arising by such Sale and all such other monies
as I shall be possessed of or intitled unto at the time of my decease
after & subject to the payment of my Debts and Funeral & Testamentary
Expenses in his or their own name or names in some Public Stock or Fund
or upon sane real or Government Securities or Security and to alter vary
& transfer such Stocks Funds & Securities as my said Trustee or Trustees
for the time being shall seem meet and shall & do pay the Interests
profits & produce of one moiety of the monies so to be placed out unto my
brother James Young and his Assigns during his life for his & their
own use & the Interest and produce of the other moiety of the said Trust
monies unto my Sister Betty Ward & her Assigns for her life for her own
use and after the death of either of them which shall first die upon Trust
to pay and I do hereby give one moiety of the said Trust Monies and
the Dividends & Interest thenceforth to grow due for the same unto the
said John Ward his Exors Admors and Assigns to & for his & their own
use & benefit and from & after the death of the Survivor of them my
said brother & Sister James Young and Betty Ward Then upon trust
to pay and i do hereby give the other moiety of the said principal money
so to be placed out and the Dividends Interest & proceed thenceforth
arising from such moiety unto my nephew the Reverend James
Ward now residing at Calcutta in the East Indies brother of the said
John Ward his Exors Admors and Assigns to & for his & their own
benefit absolutely provided always and my will is and I do hereby
declare that the Receipt or Receipts to be by the said John Ward his
Exors or Admors signed and given to the purchaser or Purchasers
of my said Leasehold Estates shall be a good & sufficient discharge
and good & sufficient discharge & good & sufficient discharges to such
purchaser or purchasers or other person for so much money as in
such Receipt or Receipts shall be expressed and such Purchaser or
purchasers or other person shall not afterwards be obliged to see to
the application or be answerable for the misapplication or
nonapplication thereof or any part thereof provided also and my
will is that my said Trustee his Exors or Admors shall not be
answerable or accountable the one for the other or for the Acts Deeds

Sums of money than shall ???????? come to the hands or ???????
received by him or them respectively ??????????? said Trustee
his Exors or Admors or either of them shall not be answerable or
accountable for any ?????????????????????????????? to any of
the Trust Monies by reason ??????????????????????? or failure
of any Security or Securities ????????????????????? shall or
may be placed out or invested ??? of any Bank Banker or Bankers in whose
hands any part or parts thereof shall or may at any time happen to be
placed or lodged for safe Custory and also that it shall & may be lawful
to and for him them and each of them from time to time to have receive
retain deduct and reimburse in the first place himself & themselves by &
out of the Trust Monies all such Loss Charges Damages & Expences as he
they or ???? of them shall respectively bear pay ??? sustain or be put unto
or which shall or may be to him them or either of them occasioned for
or by reason or means or on account of the Trusts hereby in them 
reposed or the management or Execution thereof or any thing in any
wise relating thereto And I do hereby nominated constitute & appoint
the said John Ward sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
In witness whereof I the said George Young have to the first Sheet of this
my Will the same being contained in two sheets of paper subscribed
my name and to the second and last subscribed my name & set my Seal

Sealed published & declared by the said George Young as and for
his last will and Testament in the presence of us Richd Clarke

I George Young of Ramsdown in the Isle of Wight
Gentleman do by this writing or Codicil which I hereby declare to be a
Codicil to my last Will and Testament bearing date the twenty second
day of June One thousand eight hundred and eight give & bequeath 
unto my nephew John Ward in consideration of the personal attention
he has shown me for a series of years and for the trouble I have
given him in the management of my affairs the further Sum of Four
hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain and which I
direct shall be paid to him in priority to the other Legacies already by my
said Will devised after the just payment of my Debts In all other respects I hereby
ratify and confirm my said Will and do hereby declare this to be a Codicil
thereto In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this
fourteenth day of August One thousand eight hundred and fifteen

Proved at London with a Codicil 20 June 1816 before
the Worshipful John Danberry Dr of Laws and Surrogate by the
Oath of John Ward Esquire the nephew and sole Executor to whom
Admon was granted being sworn duly to Administer
