In the Name of God Amen the Twentyth day of May
Anno Dni 1673 I Mary Mudge of Litchett Minster in the County of
Dorsett Widdow being sick and weake in Body but of sound and perfect
memory Thanks be to God for the same am desirous to settle things in order
doe make this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following
First I Comend my Soule to Almighty God my Creator assuredly beleeving
that I shall receive full pardon and free remission of my sinnes and be saved
by the pretious death and meritts of my blessed Saviour and Redeemer
Jesus Christ And my Body to the Earth To be buried in Christian
and decent manner And as touching my Worldly Estate I doe devise
bequeath and dispose the same in manner and forme following vizt
whereas Jeffery Mudge my husband lately deceased by his last Will and
Testament did give and bequeath unto mee All and singular his Goods
Chattells and houshold stuff to remaine unto mee during my naturall



lyfe And after my decease To remaine unto my Daughter Mary Mudge during
her naturall lyfe when shee shall accomplish the age of One and Twenty
yeares or marryed As in and by the same Will and Testament amongst other
things it doth more at large appeare And whereas I am lawfull Executrix
of the said Will and Testament doe therefore for the better settling of the said
Goods and houshold stuff for the future after the decease of my daughter Mary
Mudge if in Case shee happen to decease before the age of one and Twenty
yeares or married I doe therefore give and bequeath unto my brother Nicholas
Barnes All and singular my Goods money and hosehold stuff to remaine
wholy to him if in Case my said daughter Mary Mudge happen to decease
before shee shall accomplish the age of One and Twenty yeares or marryed
Item I give unto Philpin Mudge Thirty shillings Item I give unto Grace
Mudge Thirty shillings Item I give unto Elizabeth Bishopp Thirty
shillings Item I give unto J?ane Mudge Thirty shillings Item I give
unto John Butler Thirty shillings All which said Legacies to be paid
them within Six moneths after the decease of Mary Mudge my said
Daughter if shee happen to decease before the age of One and Twenty
yeares or marryed And I doe appoint the said Nicholas Barnes to be my
Executor of this my last Will and Testament desiring him to performe the
same Provided allwaies and it is my intent and meaning That if the said
Mary Mudge my daughter happen to accomplish and be of the age of one
and Twenty yeares or be married That then shee to enioy the aforesaid
Goods and premisses in all respects according to her fathers last Will
and Testament And then this my last Will and Testament to be void and
of none effect Witnes my hand the day and yeare above written The
Marke of Mary mudge Witnes hereunto John Palmer The marke of
Roger Heninge
