In the Name of God Amen
I Thomas Pike late of the City of Norwich and now of Great
Yarmouth in the County of Norfolk Gentleman do make my
last Will and Testament in manner following (that is to say)
First I do give and bequeath all my Household Furniture Plate
Linen Glass Bedding and all other my Household Goods
unto and to be equally divided between my son Thomas Pike
and my Daughter Elizabeth Monday Also I give unto my
said Son the sum of four hundred pounds Also I do direct that
the sum of four hundred pounds part of my personal Estate



shall be put out at Interest by my Executors hereinafter
named upon such security as they shall think proper but not on
less security than double Bond until the same shall be due and
payable by this my Will and I do order that the Interest thereof
shall be paid into the proper hands of my said Daughter
Elizabeth Monday for and during the Term of her natural Life
for her own separate use and Benefit distinct from the Estate
of her present or any after taken Husband and with which he
shall have nothing to do and which shall not be subject or
liable to his Acts Contracts or Debts And it is my Will that the
Receipt of her my said Daughter under her own Hand
without her Husband shall at all times be a sufficient discharge
to my said Executors for the said Interest money And from and
after the decease of her my said Daughter Elizabeth Monday I
give the said principal sum of four hundred pounds hereinbefore
directed to be put out    at Interest unto and to be equally
divided between    all and every the children of the said
Elizabeth which she now has or may have hereafter share and
share alike at their several ages of Twenty one years And my
Mind and Will is that in the mean time the same shall be
continued out at Interest as aforesaid and the Interest thereof
paid and applied to and for their Benefits severally My
Executors placing to the Account of each Child what shall be so
paid or applied for him or her respectively and my Mind and
will further is that my Executors shall and may pay and apply
a part of the principal Legacy of the said Children for the putting
them out Apprentice provided nevertheless That if any of the
Children of the said Elizabeth shall happen to depart this Life
under the age of Twenty one years That then the Legacy or
Legacies of him her or them so dying or such parts thereof as
shall be unapplied pursuant to this my Will shall go and I do
give the same to the survivors and survivor of them to be paid
at the same time that their original Legacies or Legacy shall
be payable And that if all the Children of the said Elizabeth my
Daughter shall depart this Life in her Lifetime That then the
said principal Legacy or such part thereof as shall be
unapplied pursuant to this my Will shall be intirely at the
disposal of my said Daughter Elizabeth as her own separate
Estate distinct from the Estate of her present or any after
taken Husband and with which he shall have nothing to do
and in the last mentioned Case I do direct my Executors to
pay the same in such manner as my said Daughter shall
whether married or sole ^ by writing under her own hand             ^ and as well married as sole
alone Direct or appoint Also I give unto my Grandson Thomas
Norgate the sum of Eighty pounds and to my Grand daughter
Sarah Norgate the sum of sixty pounds and to my Grandson
Pike Norgate one hundred and fifty pounds to be paid unto
them when and as they shall severally attain their respective
ages of Twenty one years provided always that if any of
them the said Thomas Northgate Sarah Northgate and Pike
Northgate my Grand Children shall happen to depart this
Life before he she or they shall have attained his or her age of




Twenty one years not leaving any Issue of his her or their
Body or Bodies lawfully to be begotten living at the time of
such his her or their several deceases Then and in such case
my Will is that the Legacy or sum of money hereinbefore given
or bequeathed to him or her of them so dying under that age
and without such Issue as aforesaid shall go and be paid 
unto and equally shared and divided between the survivors of
them the said Thomas Norgate Sarah Norgate and Pike
Norgate when and at such times as such survivors shall
severally attain their said ages of Twenty one years And
further in Case but one of them shall survive Then then
Legacies or sums of money by me given to the other two of
them so dying under that Age and without such Issue as
aforesaid shall go and be paid And I do give and bequeath the
same wholly and only to such one surviving Grand Child his
or her Executors Administrators and Assigns when and at
such time as the Original Legacy of such one surviving
Grand Child shall be and become due and payable as aforesaid
(any thing hereinbefore mentioned to the contrary thereof in
any wise notwithstanding) and I do impower my Executors
hereinafter named and the survivor of them and the
Executors or Administrators of such survivor from time to 
time during the Minority of my said Grand Children to
put the several Legacies to them given out at Interest on
such security or securities as they shall think good and
sufficient for the same but not on less security than double
Bond and to apply the Interest money arising therefrom
for the Benefit of the Child or Children respectively intitled
to the same until the several Legacies herein given to them
respectively shall become payable by virtue of this my 
Will Also I give to Sarah Miller Widow my Housekeeper
the sum of Twenty pounds to be paid to her within one
Month next after my decease Also I do nominate and
appoint my said son Thomas Pike and Mr Reuben
Deave
                                         of the
City of Norwich Merchant Executors of this my Will and
i give to him the said Mr Deave the sum of Twenty pounds
for his Trouble to be taken in the said Executorship also I
Do give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder 
(if any there by) of my Goods Chattels ready Moneys
and Securities for Moneys and all other my personal
Estate whatsoever (after deducting thereout my Funeral
charges all my just Debts the charge of proving this
my Will and the said Legacies) unto my said son for
his own use and my Will is that my said Executors shall 
each of them be answerable for his and their own act
and Receipt only and not the one of them for the other
of them and that they shall not be answerable for any
Loss or Miscarriage by any security or securities that
may happen in my Estate provided the same happen
without their wilful Default and lastly I do hereby revoke

all former Wills by me made And declare this only to be my
last Will and Testament In Witness whereof unto this my last
Will and Testament contained and written in two sheets of
paper together annexed I the said Thomas Pike the Testator
have to each sheet thereof set my hand and seal this
sixteenth day of April in the eighth year of the Reign of our
sovereign Lord King George the Third and in the year of our
Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty eight   Tho Pike
signed sealed published and declared by the above named Thomas Pike
the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the
presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in
the presence of each other have subscribed our names as
witnesses hereto  Jno Reynolds  Ann Reynolds

This Will was proved at London the eighth
day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven
hundred and sixty nine before the Right Worshipful George
Hay Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the 
Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the
Oaths of Thomas Pike and Reuben Deave the Executors
named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted
of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the
deceased having been first sworn by Commission duly to
administer
