In the Name of God Amen
I Ann Greening of the City of  Bristoll widow being of a sound
and perfect mind memory and understanding (thanks be therefore given
to almighty God for the same) and calling to remembrance the certainty
of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof Doe make and ordaine
this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following (that
is to say) First and principally I commend my soule into the hands of
Almighty God trusting through the merits death and passion of Jesus
Christ my Redeemer to have full and free pardon for all my sinns and to
inherite everlasting life and my body I committ to the Earth to be
decently interred att the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named
And as for such worldly Estate which it hath been pleased the Almighty God
to bestowe upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth Item I give and
bequeath unto my loveing Brother Edmund Nicholas and my loveing sister



Elizabeth King the wife of James King all my goods chattells moneys plate
houshold goods and all other my personall Estate whatsoever To the only
intent and purpose that they the said Edmund Nicholas and Elizabeth King
and the survivor of them and the Executors or Administrators of such
survivor shall and my with all convenient speed after my decease gather in
collect and receive all such sume and sumes of money and debts which
shall be oweing and belonging to me from any person or persons upon any
account whatsoever and also to dispose of for the most money they can
gett all my household goods and utensills of household stuffe chattells
plate and all other my personall Estate whatsoever or such part or
parts thereof as they in their discretion should thinke fitt and to make
a true Estimate and account of the Neate proceeds and value thereof and
the same being so cast upp valued and ascertained after my just debts 
Funerall charges legacies and other necessary expences in proveing this
my Will and putting in execution all or any of the Trusts herein expressed
shall be paid and discharged I give and bequeath the sume of Thirty
pounds part thereof to my daughter Elizabeth Greening to be paid her
when she shall attaine the age of Twenty one yeares and the sume of
Thirty pounds other part thereof I give to my daughter Ann
Greening to be paid to her when she shall attaine her age of Twenty
one yeares and all the residue thereof I give and bequeath unto my
said two daughters Elizabeth and Ann and to my sonn Thomas Greening
equally betweene them share and share alike to be paid unto them
respectively att their respective ages of one and twenty yeares butt in
case any or either of my said Children shall happen to die before her
his or their legacy or legacies bequests or bequests hereby to them
respectively given shall become payable to her him or them that
then the part share and interest of her him or them so dying shall goe
and be paid to the survivors and survivor of them my said three
Children item my will and meaning is and I do hereby order that 
when my said residuary Estate or any part of my Estate shall be
received in after my decease that the said Edmund Nicholas and
Elizabeth King or the survivor of them or the Executor or Administrator
of such survivor shall and may from time to time putt and place the
same or any part thereof out at interest in their owne names or in the name
of the survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of such survivor or such
security or securities as they or the survivor of them shall thinke fitt and that the
interest profitt and increase ariseing and comeing from the putting out such my said
Estate or any part thereof at interest as alsoe the rents or rent of any or either
of my Messuages or dwelling houses which I now hold for yeares or yeares
determinable on lives that shall remaine unsold and undisposed of shall from
time to time be had received and taken by my Executors hereby appointed
and the survivor of them and the Executors or Administrators of such survivor
for the benefitt and advantage of my said three Children and the survivors
and survivor of them and shall from time to time be imployed laid out and
disposed of in for and about the education maintenance and bringing upp 
of my said Children and my Will is that my said Executors or the survivor
of them shall nott be accountable to either of my said Children for what either
of them had separately but only what was laid out and expended for all of
them jointly towards theire education and maintenance or any sickness
or accident that shall happen to them or either of them and also that my
Executors or the survivor of them or the Executors or Administrators of



such Survivor shall may are and is hereby authorized and impowered to
pay and apply such sume and sumes of money as they shall judge 
necessary and sufficient out of any part of my said Estate for binding out
my son apprentice to such Trade as they in their discretions shall thinke
most proper and advantageous and my Will further is that if any loss
shall happen by putting and placeing forth at interest the said moneys
or any part thereof the same shall be borne and suffered by my legatees
herein named and nott by my Executors in Trust or either of them and
that my Executors herein named shall nott be accountable for the Act or
default of the other of them but each for his or her owne Act only Item
I do hereby order and my Will and meaning is that it shall and may be
lawfull to and for my said Executors and the survivor of them and the
Executors or Administrators of such survivor to deduct and retaine in
his her or their owne hands out of my said Estate from time to time all
such sume and sumes of money which they or either of them shall or
may pay beare be att sustaine or be putt unto in or about the execution
of this my Will or all or any of the Trusts in them or either of them
hereby reposed and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint the said
Edmund Nicholas and Elizabeth King Executors in Trust of this my last
Will and Testament desireing there acceptance of this Trust and I do
give unto each of them Five shillings as a token of my affection and 
respect to them hereby revokeing all former Wills by me made In witness
whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in two sheets
of paper written only on one side thereof subscribed my name to the
first sheete and to this present sheete have sett my hand and seale
the fourteenth day of October in the yeare of our Lord God 1724
Ann Greening signed sealed published and declared by the said Ann
Greening to be her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who
have sett our names as witnesses hereto in the presence of and att
the request of the Testatrix the marke of Ann Nicholas Martha
Bodmon Robert Sandford

Probatum fuit [this paragraph continues in Latin and appears to grant probate at London
on 30 December 1732]
