Pike's in the United Church Cemetery, Carbonear North

Although I did take photos of every Pike headstone I managed to find, I don't claim that this is a complete set of images for the Pike tombstones in the cemetery.

On 13 Nov 2005 I received an email informing me that this stone is actually for Capt Samuel Burke (so it isn't a Pike headstone after all).

The following photos are all for Thomas Pike's headstone, located in the southeast corner of the cemetery. It clearly states 1835 as his date of death... although the 3 and the 5 do, at first glance, look similar, it is nevertheless easy to tell that they are a 3 and a 5. Here's the full text on the stone:
Sacred
To the Memory of
THOMAS PIKE
who departed this life
25^th February 1835
AGED 100 YEARS
---
Along the gentle Slope of life's decline
He bent his gradual way till full of Years
He dropped like mellow fruit into his Grave
