In the Name of God Amen
the Third day of March Anno Dni 1704/5 and in the third
year of the Raign of our Soveraign Lady Anne over
England &c I James Pike Mariner on Board her
Majesties Assistance being in bodily health and of sound
and disposing mind and memory And not knowing how
it may please God to deal with me duely considering the
dangers of the Seas But considering the uncertainty of
this present transitory Life Do make and declare these
presents to contain my last Will and Testament in
manner and form following (that is to say) First and
principally I commend my soul unto the hands of Almighty
God hoping to be saved through the Meritts Death passion
and Resurrection of Jesus Christ my only Saviour And
my Body to the Sea or Earth as it shall please God to
order it And as touching such worldly Estate as Almighty
God hath and shall in his mercy blss me with all in this
Life be the same in Bounty Money Prize Money Smart
Money Short allowance Money Freight or Merchandize
And all such wages summe and summes of Money Lands
Tenements Goods Chattles and Estate whatsoever
wherewith at the time of my decease I shall be possessed 
or invested or which shall then belong or of right
appertain unto me I do give devise and bequeath unto
my well beloved kinswoman Elizabeth Philips Widow
whom I do hereby ordain and appoint my full and
sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testamet and
do revoke all former Wills and Deeds of Guift by me
at any time heretofore made And do ordain these
presents to stand and be for and as my   last Will
and Testament for ever Wittness my hand and seal
