Math 2130 is a course with four goals. First, you'll learn LaTeX, a
typesetting language which is very useful for writing papers in the
mathematical sciences. Second, you'll have the opportunity to develop
your skills in writing technical papers. Third, you'll gain experience
writing computer code to solve mathematical problems. Finally -- and
perhaps most importantly -- you'll be challenged to think about
mathematical problems independently. Rather than just following a list of
steps to complete a solution, you'll be expected to demonstrate
initiative by devising your own approach to a problem.
