Remarks:	John's name is given in some documents involving his daughter Eliza, who was the executrix of John's estate. She was granted letters of admin on 14 September 1792 by John Reeves, Esq, who was then the Chief Justice for Newfoundland. John's widow is described as "Madam Pike" in various documents. Their children were Francis ("Gentleman Franky"), Jane (who married John Gosse), Robert (a ship master who putatively went to the USA and subsequently was a privateer during the War of 1812), Eliza (who remained a spinstress; she retired from Carbonear to Poole in 1816), and a "Doctor" Pike (a surgeon, whose name is not yet known). John was likely part of the Carbonear business firm of Pike & Green.
