Subject: Two new results

Hi everybody.

This update features news of two DNA results.

The first case involves Al Pike (kit 174445) who lives in South Africa,
where his Pike ancestors settled in the 1800s after having previously
lived in the village of Keyworth, Nottinghamshire. So it came as little
surprise when Al's DNA results were a 25/25 match with David (98682) and a
36/37 match with Jerry (109431), both of whom also trace their Pike roots
back to Keyworth. All three of their results can be seen in the
collection of "Group 4" results at
http://www.math.mun.ca/~dapike/family_history/pike/DNA/index.php?content=results.html

Kit 172177 (an anonymous participant in our project) also recently
received the results of a 37-marker test. The outcome was that no close
matches were found within our project, indicating that we've now
encountered another Pike lineage that we hadn't come across before,
bringing our tally of distinct Pike genetic profiles up to 47.

Before I finish this message, let me take a moment to clarify what I think
might be a mis-perception about this mailing list, which is set up so that
anybody who subscribes to it can post messages. But since I seem to be
the one who does most of the posting, I think that some people might have
gotten the impression that I don't want other people posting to the list.
On the contrary, I'm happy to have the list also be used for discussions
about DNA and its connections with Pike genealogy.

One other brief item: Family Tree DNA have just announced that they are
putting their 37 and 67 marker Y-DNA tests on sale until June 25th. More
details can be found on our project's "How to Join" webpage.
