Subject: Two more new results

Hi everybody.

In this message there are three items to mention. The first is actually a
correction to an error in my last post, which is now archived at
http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/PIKE-DNA/2009-03/1238238788
Specifically, when discussing the results for James Pike (kit 140707), I
incorrectly said that his Pike line had been traced back to Caswell
County, South Carolina. Caswell County is correct, but it isn't in South
Carolina. Rather, it's in North Carolina, right on the border with
Virginia.

Now, for some new DNA results, the first one for this message is for an
anonymous participant in our project with kit number 137766. He tested 67
markers, but didn't match with any of the other Pikes, Pykes, etc., in our
project. Given the distinctiveness of his DNA profile, the tally of
distinct/unrelated Pike families that we've now uncovered is up to 40.

The last item for this message involves the DNA results for Richard (kit
144111). He tested 37 markers, and was revealed to be a perfect 37-marker
match with Pam's brother Ross (kit 131446) who was previously found to
belong to our project's "Group 1" family cluster. Upon closer inspection
of their Pike ancestry, Richard's genetic match with Ross comes as no
surprise: they are 4th cousins, with their shared great great great
grandfather being John Pike who was born at St Thomas, Oxfordshire, in
1807. Earlier generations of the family resided at Hungerford, Berkshire,
which boasts a green pushpin (for our project's "Group 1") in our British
Isles map at
