Here's a bit of breaking news...

FamilyTreeDNA posted test results this evening that ended up
revealing that two of the Pike DNA project members have 24 out
of the 25 tested markers in common. Things were tentatively
encouraging when they matched on 11 of the first 12 markers,
but with this extra data to go on, it seems pretty likely
that they share a common forefather within the past few
hundred years.

The near, but not perfect, match is actually a bit exciting.
I say this because it indicates that there's a mutation present
in part of their family tree, which could in turn become a tool
to help people determine which part of the family tree they fit
into.
