Hi all.
I wasn't expecting new results quite so soon, but we got 2 new ones today.
I've just updated the website with the details, but to summarise here, we
now have 2 folks within haplogroup R1a, 2 within R1b, and still just 1
whose predicted haplogroup is J2.
Even more exciting though is that the 12-marker results for the R1a folks
differ in just one value. I'm hesitant to conclude that they're related
before we get the full 25-marker results (which should only take a few more
weeks). Nevertheless, if we end up with a near-match over 25 markers, then
a relationship would seem to be certain. Such a near-match would also mean
that there's a mutation somewhere in the family tree, which could in turn
help to sort out which part of the family tree people belong to (that is,
as more people get tested and are revealed to belong somewhere within this
particular R1a Pike tree).
Anyway, let's see what turns up with the 25-marker results :)
- David.
