Hello all
We are anxiously awaiting results from others who have done the PIKE DNA testing. The results for my brother, John Pike, have finally come through, but do not match the two others that have been completed.
I have had my husband in the Gordon Surname DNA group. He matches quite a few, but we do not know the connection as yet. We have to do more paper search to connect. One great benefit has been that two Gordon lines I have kept records on all these many years do not match up with my husband's DNA markers. I no longer have to "spin my wheels" trying to find a relationship with those two lines.
We all have family traditions that we are related to someone famous in history and of course my family is supposed to be related to Geneal Zebulon M Pike, who discovered Pike's Peak in Colorado, and also, related to Cofederate General Albert Pike. Zebulon & Albert both are descended from John Pike, "the First" who landed in the Bay Colony of Massachusetts in 1635.
There will soon be a "Day of Reckoning" because we have a couple who descend from that John Pike who have joined the Pike DNA group! Even if DNA proves we aren NOT related to this line of Pike's, some of the family will never accept it!!!
I look forward to hearing more on this Pike venue.
