Greetings.

With this email I would like to both announce the creation of the
PIKE-DNA-L mailing list as well as welcome readers to subscribe to it.
This list was set up to foster discussion about Pike DNA (that is people
with surname Pike and its variants) and the Pike Surname DNA Project.
The website for this project is

  www.math.mun.ca/~dapike/family_history/pike/DNA

As a quick status report about the project, as of today, January 1st 2005,
there are 8 participants.  As for the DNA analysis for these participants:

  - results for 3 are available
  - DNA samples for 2 are currently being analysed at the lab
  - DNA samples for another 2 have been received by FamilyTreeDNA
    and will be sent to the lab once the holidays are over

As for the 3 available test results, they indicate that the 3 people tested
have unrelated paternal lines of ancestry.
