If you need to refresh your knowlegde on high school algebra (equations with radicals, polynomials, abs value, logarithm) please solve problems with "!" of this handout. For more material "Algebra and Trigonometry" book was placed on recerve for this course in CMC.

Question 2 in the midterm test asks you to scafold a virtual student in order to help them problem solving. You will have one of the following 15 problems from Mathemathics Teacher Calendar (Jan 1993):
Problems to solve   Solve only days: 2,5,6,9-13,15-18,25,26,27 for the test. You can do the rest of them for your own amusement.
You can check your answer with the Answer Key , but you still have to think about scafolding questions. [posted Sept 23]
Note!!! Problem 15 in the Calendar Problems has missing info. Must be " ten pairs of black socks AND 10 PAIRS of BROWN SOCKS".
