In the Name of God Amen
I William Pyke now of the parish of Saint Paul
Covent Garden in the County of Middlesex only son 
of John Pyke late of Long Acre in the Parish of Saint
Martin in the Fields in the said County of Middlesex
Coachmaker deceased being of Sound Mind Memory
and understanding but considering the uncertainty of 
this life do make and publish this my last will and


Testament in manner following whereas in and by a certain
Letter of Attorney bearing date on or about the twenty
seventh day of July one thousand seven hundred 
and Ninety Nine and by a certain deed of Direction
and appointment bearing even date therewith I did 
constitute and appoint Mark P???o of Charles Street
Cavendish Square in the County of Middlesex
Gentleman my Attorney fully impowering him to ask
demand and receive of the accountant General for the
time being of the Court of Chancery and of and for
all other persons all sums of Money then due to me
for and on account and as arrears of a certain 
weekly sum of Two pounds Two shillings left by
the will of my said late Father for the recovery and 
due payment of which I did cause a Bill in the
High Court of Chancery to be filed and by the said
Deed of Direction and appointment I did direct the 
application of such arrears when the amount should
be ascertained which hath since been done and did
empower the said Mark Pi???o to apply the same
in manner therein particularly specified now I doe
????y absolutely confirm the said Letter of Attorney
and Deed of Declaration and appointment respectively 
so give and executed by me and after the said
Letter of Attorney and Deed of Direction shall be fully
accomplished and carried effectually into Execution and
after payment of all my Just Debts and Funeral Expences
I do give and bequeath all the residue and remainder 
of my Estate after the purposes of the said Letter of
Attorney and Deed of Direction and appointment so
duly Executed by me for the purposes aforesaid unto
my friend William Slark of James Street Covent Garden
in the County of Middlesex Vintner in consideration 
and as a return for his Humanity towards me in
obtaining my liberty from prison and supporting 
when in great want and distress at the tiem my
late Fathers Executors refused me any aid or assistance
and I do hereby appoint the said Mark Pin??o and
William Slark Executors of this my will hereby revoking
and making void all other will or wills by me at 
any time heretofore made and declaring this only to 
be my last will and Testament In witness whereof 
I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this Eighth
day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand

as and for his last will and Testament in the
presence of us who have hereunto subscribed our Names
as witnesses hereto in the presence of each of us and 
in the presence of the said Testator at his request

This Will was proved at London on the
twenty first day of March in the year of our 
Lord one thousand Eight hundred and one before
the worshipful John Sewell Doctor of Laws Surrogate
of the Right Honorable Sir William Wynne Knight
Also Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the
Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by
the Oath of William Slarck (by mistake in the said 
will called Slark) one of the Executors named in the 
said will to whom administration was granted of all 
and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the 
deceased having been first sworn duly to administer
power reserved of making the like grants to Mark
Pinero the other Executor named int he said will
when he shall apply for the same
