In the Name of God Amen I
William Pyke of Black Nottley in the County of Essex Clerk being of sound and 
Perfect Memory blessed be Almighty God Doe make and ordain this my last
Will and Testament in manner and forme following First I commend my
soul into the hands of Almighty God Relying on the merritts of my Saviour
Jesus Christ for A Thorough remission of all my Sins And my Body I committ to
the Earth to be buryed by the Discretion of my Executors herein after named 
and as touching the Disposition of all my Real and personal Estate where with it hath
pleased God to bless Me I Give and Dispose thereof as followeth Imprimis 
I Give and Bequeath unto my dear Wife All that Field and other premisses
lying and being in Bardfield Saling which I purchased of the Widdow
Sampford and are now in the Tenure or Occupation of Abraham Owers for 
and dureing the Terme of her Naturall Life And from and after her decease 
I Give and Devise the same unto my son Richard and his heirs for ever
Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary and her Heirs for ever
All that my Messuage or Tenement together with all houses outhouses 
Lands and Tenements thereunto belonging and therewith used Occupied 
or enjoyed scituate lying and being in Patteswick and Stisted or one of them
and now in the Tenure or Occupation of John Kettle or his Assignes Item I
Give and bequeath unto my said Dear Wife all my plate to Dispose thereof 
at her Will and pleasure And the use of all other my household Goods
and Books whatsoever for and Dureing her Life And from and after her 
Decease I Give and Devise the said Goods and Books unto my said
Daughter Mary But in case My said Wife and Daughter shall think fit to
Dispose thereof or any part thereof by Sale of the same then my Will and
Meaning is that the Moneys arising by such sale shall by the Joynt 
consent and approbation of my said Dear Wife and Daughter be put out
on Good and Sufficient Security or Securityes and that my Said dear
wife shall have the Interest ariseing from theme during her Life


and from and after her decease my said Daughter to have the said principall
summes ariseing by such Sale or Sales and all Interest accrueing due for the same
from and after the Decease of my said Wife to her owne proper use and
to Dispose thereof att her Will and pleasure Item I doe give and bequeath 
unto the poor of the parish of Black Nottley aforesaid tenn pounds to be 
distributed amongst them by my Executors hereinafter named within one
month after my Decease in such manner and proportions as they shall see
Meet and convenient Item I doe give and bequeath unto my dear sister 
Rhoda Butteris Ten pounds to be paye within one MOnth after my decease 
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Sonns and Daughter Each Tenn
pounds for mourning and all the Rest of my personall Estate and Debts not
herein before bequeathed I Give and Bequeath unto my said Dear Wife 
and Doe hereby constitute ordaine and appoint her and my said son
Richard Executrix and Executor of this my last Will and Testament 
Revoking all former Will and Wills by me heretofore made In Witness
whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seal this thirteenth Day of 
March in the Year of or Lor one Thousand seven hundred and Twenty
one William Pyke Sealed Signed published and Declared to be the last
Will and Testament of the said Testator in the presence of us who subscribed
our Names in his presence (the words Ten pounds being first interlined)
