	19th March 1794
Appeared Personally Letitia Flaxman
Widow formerly Pyke Spinster and being Sworn on the
Holy Evangelists made Oath as follows (to wit) that 
Thomas Pyke late a Serjeant belonging to the thirteenth
Regiment of Foot departed this life some time in the
year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and
eighty One in Consequence of being Shipwrecked on
his passage from Saint Eustatia at which place he
was at the Capture of that he died a Backelor 
without Parent but who whilst living duly made and
executed his last Will and Testament in writing and
hereof appointed this Deponent Sole Executrix and
??versal Legatee that the said Will was sent over
????er by the said deceased from Saint Eustatia
aforesaid for safe Custody and remained in her possession
for some time but that she has either lost or mislaid 
the same she Moreover deposes that she has made
every possible search for the same without effect
she also deposes that she is the natural and lawful
??ster and only next of kin of the said deceased and
??? only person intitled in the Distribution of his
??rsonal Estate and Effects in case he had died
??testate that the Sum of Seven Pounds fifteen
??illings is now due and owing to him for his share
?? Prize Money in Consequence of his Services in
????? present at and aiding and assisting in the 
??????ing of the said St Eustatia Islands which 


Sum cannot be received by her or by any person
for her use and benefit without a Probate of his
will being first granted limited until the Original
will or an Authentic Copy thereof shall be brought
into and left in the Registry of the Prerogative

The Will Contained in the Affidavit of Letitia
Flaxman formerly Pyke widow was Proved at London
the twenty first day of March in the Year of Our Lord
One thousand seven hundred and ninety four before 
the Worshipful Samuel Pearce Parson Doctor of Laws
Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne
Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary
of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully
Constituted by the Oath of the said Letitia Flaxman
formerly Pyke Widow the natural and lawful Sister
only next of kin and Sole Executrix and Universal 
Legatee named in the said Will to whom Administration
was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels
and Credits of the deceased Limited until the Original
will or an Authentic or other copy thereof shall be brought
into and left in the Registry of the Prerogative Court
of Canterbury having been first sworn duly to Administr
