In the Name of God Amen
I Samuel Pyke of Greenham in the parish of Thatcham in 
the County of Berks Malster being weak in Body but by the
goodness of God of sound and disposing Mind and Memory
do make and declare my last Will and Testament in manner
following (that is to say) My Will and Desire that all and
singular my just Debts Funeral and Testamentary Charges and
Expences be int he first place duly paid and satisfied Then I
give unto my Servant Mary Pococke All and singular the
wearing apparel and Childbed Linnen of what kind soever
of and belonging to my late Wife Item All those my several
Messuages or Tenements with the Malthouse and Appurtences
thereto belonging situate lying and being in Greenham aforesd
which I late since purchased of and from Mr Richard Carter
of Thatcham aforesaid Gentleman and all other my real Estate
whatsoever and wheresoever And also all and singular my
Household Furniture Money secutiries for money Goods Chattel
and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever I give devise
and bequeath unto my worthy Friends Robert Winbolt of Token
house yard in the City of London Gentleman and Daniel
Mecham of the Borough of Southwark Hop Merchant In Trust
that they and the survivor of them his Heirs Executors and
administrators shall and may at his and their own Discretion
sell order and Dispose of my said real and personal Estate 
and by and out of the Moneys thereby arising in the first
place to pay off and discharge the Moneys due and charged
upon the said Messuages or Tenements and Malthouse by
Mortgage and the residue and remainder thereof to Invest in
some of the Publick Funds or otherwise to put forth the same
at Interest on some good security or securities and apply and
bestow the Interest Dividends or Proceed thereof and also the
Rents Issues and Profits of my said Freehold Estates until
sale thereof or so much thereof as they shall think proper for
and upon the Maintenance of my son Samuel Pyke until his
age of Twenty one years and shall then give and deliver up
transfer and assign unto my said son all and singular the said
Moneys or securities for Money then remaining in their hands
or in their Names and all such of my said Estates Goods and
						     Chattels


Chattels as shall or may then remain unsold to and for his own
use and benefit But in case my said son shall happen to die
under the age of Twenty one years without Issue living at his
decease Then my Will is the same shall go and be paid and I do
hereby give devise and bequeath the same to my Brothers 
Thomas and Edmund Pyke and Sisters Elizabeth the wife of
William Joyce and Sarah the wife of Thomas Cox equally to be
divided between them share and share alike and I do hereby
constitute and appoint my said Friends Robert Winbolt and
Daniel Mecham Executors of this my Will and as a small
acknowledgement of the trouble hereby given them Do give to
each of them a Ring of a Guinea value and it is my Intent 
and meaning that my said Executors and Trustees shall and
may retain and reimburse themselves all Charges and
Damages which they or either of them shall be put unto or
sustain in or about the Execution of this my Will or of the
Trusts hereby in them reposed And that they or either shall not
be      accountable for any losses or damages that
shall or may happen therein Lastly I revoke all other Wills
by me at any time heretofore made In Witness whereof I the
said Samuel Pyke have hereunto set my hand and seal this
seventeenth day of November one thousand seven hundred
and sixty five Saml Pyke signed sealed published and
declared by the said Samuel Pyke the Testator as and for his 
last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his
presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto
subscribed our names as Witnesses thereto Mary Pocock senr

This Will was proved at London the thirteenth
day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven
hundred and sixty six before the Worshipfull George Harris
Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipfull George Hay
Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or commissary of the
Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the
oath of Robert Wimbolt and by the solemn and sincere
Declaration or Affirmation of Daniel Mecham the Executors 
named in the said Will to whom administration was granted
of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased
the said Robert Winbolt having been already sworn and the
said Daniel Mecham having first made the Declaration or
Affirmation aforesaid duly to administer
