In the Name of God Amen
I Mary Pyke of London Widow being of sound and disposing
Mine and Memory do make and declare this my last Will
and Testament in manner and form following Imprimis I
recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God hoping 
for Pardon of all my Sins through the Merits and Mediation
of my Saviour Jesus Christ My Body I committ to the Earth
to be buried in Walbrooke Church in the same Grave where
my late Husband now lies My Funerall to be performed by my
Nephew Richard Chambers from his House in the same
manner my Mother was buried the Expence whereof
amounted to about Five and forty pounds And I desire to be
buried at Night and that none but near Relations be invited
to attend my Funerall And as to such Worldly Estate as it hath
pleased God to bless me withall I give and dispose thereof as 
follows First I give and bequeath unto my Executors herein
after named Six hundred and fifty pounds South Sea Annuity
Stock In Trust that they and the Survivor of them and the
Executors and Administrators of such Survivor do and shall
by and out of the Interest Dividends and Produce thereof pay
to my wicked and disobedient Son Benjamin Pyke the Annuity 
or Sum of Fifteen pounds for and during the Term of his
natural life which I now pay him and which was given him
by my late Husbands Will And upon Trust to pay the residue
of the said Interest Dividends and Produce unto my said Son
for and during his naturall Life Upon Condition that within
Six Months after my Death he Executes to my Executors a
Release of all Claims and Demands out of my Estate except
for the said Annuity and for what I have hereby given him
and from and after the decease of my said Son Then In
Trust to transferr and assign the same Annuity Stock unto
and among my three GrandChildren William John and
Pyke Shorey equally between them Share and Share alike
The Share of such of them who shall not have then attained
their Age of One and twenty years to be transferred and
assigned to them respectively when they shall respectively 
attain their said Age of One and twenty years Item I give
to the said Benjamin Pyke Ten pounds for Mourning Item
I give to my said Grandson William Shorey the sume of Fifty
pounds to his own use for evermore I having already given 
my said other Grandsons the like sume Item I given and
bequeath unto my said Executors Fifty pounds South Sea
Annuity Stock Upon Trust that they and the Survivor of
them and the Executors and Administrators of such Survivor
do and shall receive the Interest and Dividends thereof as
they shall become due and payable and pay the same to my
Neice Mrs Jane Chambers Widow for and during the Term
of her natural Life And after her decease Then In Trust
to transferr the said Fifty pounds South Sea Annuity Stock
unto her two Children Nicholas and Ann Chambers at
his and her Age of One and twenty years or to the Survivor


of them if either of them dye before his or her Age of One and
twenty years And the Dividends thereof in the meantime to be
applyed towards their respective Maintenance and Education 
Item I give to the said Nicholas and Ann Chambers the Sum of
Five and twenty pounds apeice to be paid them at their
respective Ages of One and twenty years And in case either of 
them shall dye under that Age Then my Will is that the said 
Legacy of him or her so dying shall be paid to the Survivor 
with his or her own Originall Legacy Item I give to my said
Nephew Richard Chambers Twenty pounds and to his Wife
my Neice Isabella Chambers Ten pounds and to their
Daughters Isabella and Mary Chambers I give Twenty pounds 
a peice And to their Son Richard I give Ten pounds Item I 
give to Mrs Rebecca Lucas of Saint Edmondsbury in the County
of Suffolk Widow Ten pounds for Mourning Item I give to
Mary and Abigail Lucas Daughters of the said Rebecca Lucas
Ten pounds each for Mourning Item I give to Mr Christopher
Fowler of London Grocer Twenty pounds and to his Wife Ten
pounds for Mourning Item I give to Mr Harding Tomkins 
of Finch Lane Cornhill London Gentleman Twenty pounds
Item to my Servant which shall be living with me at my death
I give Five pounds Item I give unto my said Grandson
William Shorey my Silver Tea kettle and Lamp and Canisters 
Six Silver Tea Spoons and a pair of Silver Tongs and two
large Silver Spoons I also give him my four largest Diamonds
and my best Diamond Ring and my Lockett sett round with
green and red stones and my Gold Watch Item I give to my
said Grandson John Shorey a pair of Silver Candlesticks a
silver Salver and two large Silver Spoons I also give him my
Diamond Ring of Seven Stones and my Lockett sett with Pearl
and Stones and four of my next largest Diamonds Item I 
give to my said Grandson Pyke Shorey a pair of Silver 
Candlesticks with the Snuffers Snuff dish and Extinguisher a
Silver Salver and two silver Spoons I also give him Eight
of my small Diamonds my Diamond Hoop Ring and my
Diamond Buckle and my small Lockett Item I give to my
said son Benjamin Pyke my Silver Coffee Pott and two Silver
Spoons Item I give to the said Isabella Chambers the
Daughter of my said Nephew Richard Chambers my pair
of sleeping Diamond Earrings Item I give to my said Nephew 
Richard Chambers my Diamond Ring which was my Mothers 
in which is wrote the Gift of a sincere Friend or to that Effect
Item I give to my said Neices Isabella and Jane Chambers 
all my Wearing Apparell of what sort soever equally to be 
divided between them Item I give my Damask Table Linnen
and all other my Household Linnen to my said three
Grandsons equally to be divided between them Item all the
Rest and Residue of my Estate whatsoever I give devise 
and bequeath unto my said three Grandsons William John
and Pyke Shorey their Executors and Administrators equally
to be divided between them share and share alike The
Share of such of them who shall not have attained their


Age of One and twenty years at the time of my Death to be
paid transferred and assigned to him or them respectively
when he or they shall respectively attain their said Age of
One and twenty years And in case the said Residue of my
Estate shall not at my death be invested in South Sea
Annuity Stock I hereby authorize my Executors hereinafter 
named in their own Names to Invest the Share thereof of
such of my GrandChildren as shall not be of the Age of
One and twenty years at my Death in South Sea Annuity
Stock untill the same shall become payable according to
the true Intent and Meaning of this my Will and I Will
that the Interest Dividends and Produce thereof or of such
part of them as my said Executors shall think fitt shall in
the meantime be laid out paid and applied for their
respective uses and Benefitts in such manner as to my
said Executors shall seem meet and convenient And what
part of them shall not be so laid out paid or applied I Will
shall be invested in South Sea Annuity Stock to be transferred
to them respectively with their Originall Shares of the said
Residue of my Estate And I expressly Will and Order That 
in Case any or either of my said three GrandChildren
shall happen to dye before he or they shall attain the
Age of One and twenty years Then the Share or Shares of
him or them so dying of and in the said Legacyes of Six
hundred and fifty pounds South Sea Annuity Stock and of 
the said Residue of my Estate and of the Dividends thereof 
that shall be so invested as aforesaid shall be go remain 
and be transferred to the Survivors and Survivor of them
And I do hereby declare my Will and Mind to be That
my said Executors and the Survivor of them and the
Executors and Administrators of such Survivor shall not be
responsible for any Loss that shall or may happen to any
part of my Estate without their willfull Default nor be
accountable for the Act or Receipt of the other of them
but each for his own Act and Receipt only But that such
Loss if any shall happen shall be born and sustained by
such Person and Persons to whom the same would have 
belonged according to the true Intent and Meaning of this
my Will if no such Loss had happened and that my said 
Executors shall and may in the first place out of my Estate
and the Stocks hereby given them in Trust satisfye and 
pay themselves all such Costs Charges and Disbursements
as they shall be at or lay out in the Execution of this my
Will or the Trusts hereby in them reposed And I hereby
make ordain consititute and appoint my said Grandson
William Shorey and the said Christopher Fowler and
Harding Tomkins Executors of this my last Will and
Testament But I hereby declare That I do not intend to
release or discharge the Debt owing me by the said 
Christopher Fowler by my making him One of my Executors 
but such Debt if not paid in my Life time I reckon as part
of my Estate And Lastly I hereby revoke and make void all


former and other Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore
made And do make publish and declare this only to be my
last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said 
Mary Pyke the Testatrix to this my last Will and Testament 
contained in this and the two foregoing sheets of Paper and 
to a Duplicate hereof have set my hand and to this last sheet
my hand and seal this Nine and twentieth day of November
One Thousand seven hundred and thirty five  Mary Pyke
Signed Sealed Published and Declared to be her last Will and
Testament by the said Mary Pyke the Testatrix in the presence 
of us who have each of us set our Names as Witnesses hereto
in the presence of the said Testatrix  The Words and to a
Duplicate hereof being first interlined between the last Line
but one and the last Line but two  Tho Buckham William
Potter

This Will was proved at London before the
Worshipfull Thomas Walker Doctor of Laws Surrogate of
the Right Worshipfull John Bettesworth Doctor of Laws
Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of
Canterbury lawfully constituted on the Second day of November 
in the year of Our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and 
Thirty six by the Oaths of William Shorey and Christopher
Fowler two of the Executors named in the said Will To whom
was granted Administration of all and singular the Goods 
Chattells and Credits of the said deceased they being first sworn 
duly to administer the same (Power reserved of making the like
Grant to Harding Tomkins the other Executor named in the
said Will when he shall apply for the same)

On the twenty fifth day of June in the
year of our Lord 1742 Admon with
the Will annexed of the goods Chattells
and Credits of the said Mary Pyke
Widow deced left unadministred
by William Shorey and Christopher
Fowler two of the Executors named 
in the said Will of the said deced
was granted to Martha Mallet
Offredy heretofore Shorey now 
the Wife of John Mallet Offredy
the Relict and Sole Executrix 
named in the said Will of the 
said William Shorey deced whilst
???????????????ing Executor
and one of the residuary Legatees
named in the said will of the said
Mary Pyke deced being first sworn
duly to admster Harding Tomkins 
the surviving Executor having been
first legally ????? and intimated 
and not appearing
