In the Name of God Amen
I John Pyke of the Parish of Saint Martin in the Feilds in the County
of MIddlesex Upholsterer do make this my last Will and Testament
in manner and Form following first I Surrender my Soul unto Almighty
God my Creator trusting in the Merits of Jesus Christ my Redeemer


my Body I Commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the Discretion
of my Executrix hereinafter named and as concerning my Worldly
Estate wherewith God hath been pleased to bless me I give
devise and dispose of the same in manner following that is to
say first I will and appoint that all my Just Debts and Funeral
Expences be first Paid and Satisfied Item I give and bequeath unto
my Nephew John Pyke son of my Brother Henry Pyke the sum
of three Hundred Pounds to bePaid within three Months next
after the Decease of my dear Wife Sarah Pyke in Case he
my said Nephew shall happen to Survive her but in case my
said Nephew John Pyke shall happen to Dye in the Life time
of my said dear Wife Sarah Pyke then I give and bequeath
the said Legacy of three Hundred Pounds unto her my said dear
Wife Sarah Pyke Item I give and bequeath unto my Nephew
William Pyke son of my late Brother Jasper Pyke and unto 
my Neices Mary Pyke Sarah Pyke and Elizabeth Pyke
Daughters of my said late Brother Jasper Pyke the respective
sums of Fifty Pounds apeice to be paid to them within three
Months next after the decease of my said dear Wife Sarah
Pyke and if any of them shall happen to be then dead my Will
is that the Legacy or Legacies of him her or them so dying
shall go to and be paid to the Survivors or Survivor of them
Item as to all the Overplus rest residue and remainder of my
Estate both Real and Personal Moneys Plate Rings Linnen
Household stuff and Furniture of Household Goods Chattels and
Effects of what kind nature or Quality soever I give devise and
bequeath the same and every Part thereof unto my said dear
Wife Sarah Pyke her Heirs Executors and Administrators to and
for her and their own Proper use and benefit and I do hereby
nominate Constitute and appoint my said Dear Wife Sarah
Pyke Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I do
hereby revoke all former and other Wills by me at any time
heretofore made and do Publish and declare this to be my last
Will and Testament In Testimony whereof I have to this my
last Will and Testament contained in one sheet of Paper
Subscribed my Name and Set my Seal this fifth Day of April in 
the one and Twentieth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord
George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France
and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the
year of our Lord God one thousand Seven Hundred forty and eight
Jno: Pyke  Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said
John Pyke the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament
in the presence of us who have hereunto Subscribed out
Names as Witnesses thereunto in the Presence of the said Testator
Wm Hayne Hen Binfield Thos Wade

This Will was Proved at London the fourteenth day of
January in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven Hundred
and Fifty Two before the Worshipful Andrew Coltee Ducarel Doctor
of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipful George Lee Doctor of
Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court


Cantebury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Sarah Pyke Widow
the Relict of the Deceased and Executrix named in the said Will
to whom Administration was granted of all and Singular the
Goods Chattels and Credits of the Deceased being first Sworn duly
to administer
