This is the last Will
and Testament of me John Pyke Clerk Rector of the 
Parish of Sandwich in the Isle of Purbeck in the County
of Dorset made and published this seventeenth day
of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven
Hundred and Eighty one as followeth First I Give and
devise all that my Moiety or half Part of all that 
Freehold Estate and Lands with its Appurtenances
situate lying and being at Marnhall in the said County
of Dorset unto my Sister Elizabeth the Wife of John
Jacob Bennet and to her Assigns and and during the
Term of her natural Life and from and immediately 
after her Decease I Give and devise the same Moiety



or half Part of the said Estate and Lands with its Appurtenance
unto Patty Bennet the youngest Daughter of my said Sister
Elizabeth Bennet To have and to hold the same unto her the
said Patty Bennet and unto her Heirs and Assigns for ever
I Give devise and Bequeath unto my said Sister Elizabeth
Bennet and also unto my Neices Sally the Wife of Edward
Parker and Dolly the wife of John Pitt All those my several
and respective Leasehold Estates or Livings with all and
singular the Rights Members Priviledges Advantages and
Appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise
appertaining situate lying and being in the Manor of
Ramdridge in the County of Hants or elsewhere to have
and to hold the same and every Part thereof unto them
the said Elizabeth Bennet Sally Parker and Dolly Pitt their
Executors Administrators and Assigns for and during
all the rest residue and remainder of all such Term and
Terms of years and other Estate and Estates as shall or may
be severally to come therein at my decease I Give and bequeath
unto my Goddaughter Sally the Daughter of my said Neice
Sally Parker twenty Pounds I Give and bequeath unto
my Godson the Son of John and Mary Keynton Five
Pounds I Give and Bequeath unto Polly the Daughter
of my late Nephew John Pyke at her age of twenty one
years twenty Pounds But in case she dies before
that age then I Give and Bequeath the said twenty
Pounds unto Dolly Pitt one of my Executrixes hereinafter
named I Give and Bequeath unto John Pyke eldest
Son of my said late Nephew John Pyke twenty Pounds
and also my Gold Watch I Give and Bequeath unto
the Revd Mr Jones my Curate twenty Pounds I Give
and Bequeath unto each of my Servants that have lived
with me one year before my Decease and shall be living
with me at my Death Five Pounds I Give and Bequeath
unto my old Servant Mary Tedbury the further Sum of 
five Pounds I Give and Bequeath unto Joseph Ralls
and his Wife Five Pounds apiece and unto Gerrard and
Joseph their Sons four Pounds apiece all and singular
which before mentioned Legacies except that to Polly
Pyke I direct to be paid to my respective Legatees at
the end of twelve Months after my Decease I Give to the
Poor of the said Parish of Sandwich five Pounds to be
distributed amongst them in such manner as to my
Executrixes shall seem meet Lastly all my Houshold
Goods and Furniture Plate Linen China Ready Money
and Securities for Money together with all the rest residue
and remainder of my real and personal Estate and Effects
of every Nature and Kind soever or wheresoever I Give
devise and bequeath unto them the said Elizabeth Bennet
Sally Parker and Dolly Pitt their Heirs Executors
Administrators and Assigns for ever equally betweent hem
chargeable Nevertheless And I do hereby charge the
same and also all other my Estate and Effects with the



Payment of all my just Debts Legacies and Funeral Expences
and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint them
the said Elizabeth Bennet and Sally Parker and Dolly
Pitt my said Neices joint Executrixes of this my said last
Will and Testament And I do hereby revoke all former Will
and Wills by me at any time or times heretofore made In
Witness whereof I the said Testator John Pyke have to this
my last Will and Testament set my Hand and Seal the
said seventeenth day of January one thousand seven Hundred
and Eighty one  John Pyke  Signed sealed and and
delivered published and declared by the said Testator
John Pyke as and for his last Will and Testament in
the Presence of us who at his request in his Presence
and in the Presence of each other have subscribed our
Names as Witnesses (the Words Dolly Pitt one of and the
Word and being first interlined) Tho Bartlett William Little
William Curtis

This Will was proved at London the twenty
fourth day of September in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven Hundred and Eighty one before the 
Worshipful Thomas Bever Doctor of Laws Surrogate
of the Right Worshipful Peter Calvert Doctor of Laws
Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court
of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of
Sally Parker (Wife of Edward Parker and Dolly Pitt
(Wife of John Pitt) two of the Executrixes named in the
said Will to whom Administration was granted of all
and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the deceased
having been first sworn duly to adminsiter Elizabeth
Bennett (Wife of John Jacob Bennett) the other Executrix
named in the said Will having first renounced the
Execution thereof
