The last Will and Testament
of John Pyke of Enford in the County of Wilts Clerk In the first
Place I bequeath to my Nephew Thomas Henry Pyke the sum of One
thousand pounds with the interest arising therefrom being a legacy left
me by my late brother Henry Pyke and charged on his Estate at Wick but
not paid I bequeath to the children of my late brother Thomas Pyke (with
the exception of his eldest Son Thomas Henry) the sum of Seven hundred
pounds to be equally divided amongst them or the survivors of them I bequeath
to my Sister Mrs Pinckney the sum of One hundred pounds I bequeath to my
Sister Mrs Gilbert the sum of four hundred pounds and to her children after
her I bequeath to my Sister Mrs Welford the sum of three hundred pounds &
to her children after her I bequeath to the children of my late brother William
Pyke the sum of two hundred pounds to be equally divided amongst them or

I bequeath to my Servant Bethia Phillimore the sum of
thirty pounds I bequeath to my servant boy John Sutton the sum of
five pounds I give to the vicar and Church wardens of the Parish of Uphavon
for the time being the sum of One hundred pounds in Trust to be vested by
them in the 3 per Cent Consolidated Annuities and the interest arising
therefrom to be expended in the support of a Sunday School instituted in
that place The Residue of my property after paying my just debts
and funeral expences I bequeath to my Nephew Robert Pinckney whom
I appoint my sole Executor and Residuary Legatee revoking

Appeared Personally James Ford of Upavon
in the County of Wilts Labourer and made Oath that he is one of the
subscribing witnesses to the Codicil to the last will and Testament of John
Pyke late of Enford in the County of Wilts Clerk deceased and which said
Codicil bearing date the Eighteenth day of February One thousand eight
hundred and thirty nine is hereto annexed And he further made Oath that
on the eighteenth day of February aforesaid the said John Pyke duly executed
the said Codicil by signing his name "John Pyke" at the foot or end thereof
in the presence of this Deponent and of William Oram the other attesting
witness thereto both of whom were present at the same time and this Disponent
and the said William Oram thereupon attested the execution of the said Codicil
by signing their names respectively thereto in the presence of the said Testator
and of each other James Ford On the 23rd day of May 1839 the said
James Ford was duly Sworn to the truth of this Affidavit Before me

a Codicil was Proved at London 15th June 1839 before the Judge by the Oath
