In the Name of God Amen
the ninth Day of May in the Year of our lord 1742 I Humphry
Pyke of Tawton Bishop in the County of Devon Limeburner
being but weak and infirme of body but of sound and perfect memory
and understanding do hereby revokeing all former Will or Wills
by me heretofore made do make and ordain this to be my last 
will and Testament in manner and form following to wit first
I Resign my soul to Almighty God and my body to decent and
Christian Burial and as for such Temporal Goods and Effects 
which God of his Bounty and Mercy hath bestowed upon me I
do Give devise and dispose of the same in manner as followeth
I do hereby Give Grant and confirm unto my dearly beloved Wife
Elizabeth Pyke whom I do also nominate ordain and appoint
sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament in case she
remain a Widow during her life that Estate called Hearne 
lying within this parish and my Interest therein so long continue
and if in case she should happen to Marry that then my said


wife shall be payd ten pounds a year out of the aforesaid Estate 
called Hearne and the Remainder of the profits of the said Estate
to my son George Pyke I do hereby Give unto my son Robert Isaac Pyke
the sum of five shillings I do hereby Give and Grant to my son
George Pyke ye Right of his life in the aforesaid Estate called
Hearne after my Wifes decease I Give and Devise and confirm
to my son John Pyke after the Death of his Mother the Dwelling
House wherein I now live and two other Houses with the Lime Kilns
and on which ye lives being coppyhold Estate I Give and devise
the same to him at such time as he shall attain the Age of one
and twenty years and as my two sons Robert Isaac Pyke and 
George Pyke Lives are upon the said copy I do hereby oblige 
them to Surrender their lives under the penalty of twenty pounds 
each In witness whereof to this my present last Will and 
Testament I have set my hand and seal the day and year above
written Humphry Pike sealed signed and published to be my
last Will and Testament in the presence of us Margaret Smallridge

This Will was proved at London on the thirty first day
of October in the year of our Lord One thousand seven Hundred and 
Sixty four before the Right Worshipful George Hay
Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative 
Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Elizabeth
Pyke Widow the Relict of the said deceased and sole Executrix 
named in the said Will To whom Administration was granted of 
all and singular the Goods chattels and credits of the said deceased 
having been first sworn duly to administer
