This is the last Will and Testament of
me The Reverend George Pyke of Wickhambrook in the County of Suffolk Clerk I give
devise and bequeath unto The Reverend Martin John Brunwin of Braswell in the
County of Essex Clerk and The Reverend Coppinger Henry Gooch Clerk Fellow
of Corpus Christi College in the University of Cambridge their heirs Executors adm[inistrat]ors
and assigns all and singular so much and such part and parts as is or are freehold or
Leasehold and not of Copyhold or Customary Tenure of and in all and every my Manors
Messuages Cottages Farms Lands Tenements and heredits whatsoever and wheresoever
the same may be situate lying and being in possession reversion remainder or expectancy
with the appurts To hold the same unto and to the use of the said Martin John
Brunwin and Coppinger Henry Gooch their heirs Executors adm[inistrat]ors and assigns for
ever according to the nature of their respective tenures upon Trust that they the said Martin
John Brunwin and Coppinger Henry Gooch or the Survivor of them or the heirs
Executors adm[inistrat]ors or assigns of such Surivor shall and do as and when they shall in
their or his own discretion think fit and of their or his own proper authority absolutely
sell and dispose of the said freehold or Leasehold Manors messuages Cottages Farms
Lands Heredits and Premises with the appurts either together or in parcels and by public
sale or auction or by private contract to any person or persons who shall be willing
to become the purchaser or purchasers thereof and I do hereby authorize impower and 
direct the said Martin John Brunwin and Coppringer Henry Gooch or the Survivor
of them or the heirs of such Survivor as soon after my decease as they in their or
his own discretion shall think fit and of their or his own proper authority absolutely to
sell and dispose of so much and such part and parts as is or are of Copyhold or Customary
tenure and not of Freehold tenure of and in all and every my said Manors Messuages
Cottages Farms Lands Tenements and heredits hereinbefore mentioned withthe appurts
thereto respectively belonging either together or in parcels and by public sale or
auction or by private Contract to any person or persons who shall be willing to 
become the purchaser or purchasers thereof and to make and execute all such bargains
Sales Conveyances and assurances as shal be requisite or necessary for effectuating
and completing such Sale or Sales as well of the said Freehold and Leasehold as of
the said Copyhold or Customary heredits and I do hereby further direct that they
the said Martin John Brunwin and Coppinger Henry Gooch and the Survivor of
them and the heirs Executors and adm[inistrat]ors of such Survivor shall and do stand
possessed of and interested in the monies to arise by such sale or sales after paying
and satisfying thereout the costs and expenses of preparing for and making or
otherwise attending such sale or sales upon and for the trusts intents and purposes
hereinafter expressed and declared concerning the same and I do hereby declare that
the receipt or receipts the said Martin John Brunwin and Coppinger Henry
Gooch or the Survivor of them or the heirs Executors or adm[inistrat]ors of such Survivor
shall be a good and effectual discharge for the Monies which shall arise by such sale or
sales as aforesaid or which shall otherwise come to their or his hands by virtue of or
under this my will or the trusts hereby declared or for so much of such monies as in such
receipt or receipts shall be expressed or acknowledged to be received and that the person
or persons paying such monies or taking such receipt or receipts for the same and


the purchaser or purchasers of my said Estates as aforesaid shall not afterwards be
obliged to see to the application or be answerable for the loss misapplication
or nonapplication thereof or of any part thereof nor shall such purchaser or
purchasers be bound to ascertain or require into the necessity or propriety of any sale
or sales which shall be made by the said Martin John Brunwin and Coppinger
Henry Gooch or the Survivor of them or the heirs Executors or adm[inistrat]ors of such
Survivor and I do hereby give and bequeath unto the said Martin John Brunwin
and Coppinger Henry Gooch their Executors and adm[inistrat]ors all and every my Monies
and Securities for money plate Household furniture L??? and Woollen Goods
and Chattels and personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever To
hold the same unto the said Martin John Brunwin and Coppinger Henry Gooch
their Executors adm[inistrat]ors and assigns upon Trust to sell dispose of and convert the same
into money as soon after my decease as they in their own discretion shall think
fit and as for and concerning as well the said Residue of my personal Estate as also the
monies to arise and be produced by the sale of my said freehold copyhold
Customary and Leasehold hereditaments hereinbefore devised and authorized and
directed to be sold as aforesaid and the Rents and profits thereof until the same shall
be sold I do hereby direct that the said Martin John Bunwin and Coppinger Henry
Gooch and the Survivor of them and the heirs Executors and adm[inistrat]ors of such Survivor
shall and do thereout in the first place pay and satisfy all my just debts and
Funeral Testamentary and all other incidental charges and expences and shall and
do lay out and invest the Residue thereof after payment of such debts and expences in
the names of them the said Martin John Brunwin and Coppinger Henry Gooch or
the Survivor of them or the Executors or adm[inistrat]ors of such Survivor in some or one
of the public stocks of Great Britain or at Interest upon Government or Real Securities
in England to be from time to time altered varied and transposed in or for other stocks
funds or securities of the same or the like nature when and as often as they or he shall
think proper and i do hereby direct that the said Martin John Brunwin and Coppinger
Henry Gooch and the Survivor of them and the heirs Executors and adm[inistrat]ors of such
Survivor shall and do stand and be possessed of and interested in the Monies Stocks Funds
and Securities and the Interest Dividends and annual produce thereof and the Rents
and profits ofthe said heredits until such Sale thereof as aforesaid upon the trusts
following that is to say upon trust to pay thereout 
unto my Wife Mary Pyke or her assigns the annual sum of one hundred pounds Sterling
for and during the term of her natural life to be paid free from all Taxes and without
any Seduction whatsoever by equal half yearly payments on the twenty fifth day
of March and the twenty ninth day of September in every year the first payment
thereof to begin and be made on such of the said days as shall happen next after
my decease and upon further Trust that they the said martin John Brunwin
and Coppinger Henry Gooch or the survivor of them or the Executors or adm[inistrat]ors of
such Survivor shall and do during the minority of each of my Sons and Daughters
or until the day or days of marrige of my said Daughters which shall first
happen pay or apply the annual Sum of Seventy pounds for each and every such
Son and Daughter out of the surplus of the Interest Dividends and annual produce
of the said Trust Monies Stocks Funds and Securities and the Rents and profits of my
said Estates until such Sale thereof as aforesaid by equal half yearly payments in
every year unto my said wife Mary if she shall continue my Widow but if she
shall marry again after my decease then shall
and do themselves and himself retain such annual Sum of Seventy pounds for each
and every such Son and Daughter to the intent that it may be paid and applied in
or towards the maintenance support and Education of each and every such Son and
Daughter by her my said Wife or by my said Trustees or Trustee for the time being
as they or he in their or his discretion shall think fit and when and so soon as
any of my said Children being a Son shall have attained the age of twenty one
years or being a Daughter shall have attained such age or be married with the
consent of her Guardians or Guardian for the time being upon further Trust that
they the said Martin John Brunwin and Coppinger Henry Gooch or the survivor

of them or the Executors or adm[inistrat]ors of such Survivor do and shall pay apply and
transfer unto each and every of my said Children being a Daughter the Sum of
Two thousand pounds Sterling on her attaining her age of twenty one years or day
of marriage with such consent of Guardian for the time being as aforesaid which
shall first happen or being a Son on his attaining his age of twenty one years an
equal share or proportion of the principal monies of the surplus of such Stocks Funds
and Securities for his her or their own benefit and disposal and upon further Trust that
they my said Trustees or the Surivivor of them or he Executors or adm[inistrat]ors of such
Surivvor do and shall from and immediately after the decease of my said Wife pay
and apply transfer and divide all and singular such principal monies of such Stocks
Funds and Securities as shall have been retained for raising the said annual Sum
of one hundred pounds for my said Wife unto and amongst all and every my said Sons
in equal shares and proportions as and when they shall attain their respective
ages of twenty one years and upon further Trust that they my said Trustees or the survivor
of them his Executors or adm[inistrat]ors do and shall invest all such Surplus as shall
remain after payment of the said annual Sum of Seventy pounds for each Child
as aforesaid of the interest dividends and annual produce of each respective Legacy or
share during the respective minorities of my said Sons and Daughters or until the
day of marrige of my said Daughters with such consent as aforesaid which shall
first happen in order that it may accumulate for the benefit of each of my said Sons
and Daughters until they shall have attained their respective ages of twenty one
years or day of marriage of my said Daughters as aforesaid which shall first happen
provided always and I do hereby declare that if any one or more of my said Children
being a Son or Sons shall die under the age of twenty one years without leaving
lawful Issue or being a Daughter or Daughters shall die under that age without
having been married with the consent of her or their Guardian or Guardians for the
time being then as well the original Legacy or share or shares of the Child or Children
so dying as the share or shares which by virtue of this present proviso shall have
survivied or accrues to him her or them of and in the hereinbefore Trust Estates Monies
and Premises or of so much thereof as shall not previously have been applied for
his her or their advancement or preferment by virtue of any provisoe contained in this
my will shall from time to time go accrue and belong to the Survivors or Survivor
and other and other of my said Children if more than one in equal shares as
tenants in common and shall be vested and paid in like maner as his her or
their original Legacy or share or shares provided always and I do hereby declare
that it shall be lawful for my said Trustees or Trustee for the time being with the
consent of my said Wife Mary Pyke during her life or Widowhood and after her
decease or marrying again of their or his own proper authority to raise and apply all
or any part of the share of any one of my said Children whose share shall not then
be payable under the trusts and provisoes hereinbefore declared or contained for or
towards his or their preferment advancement or benefit and I do hereby appoint my
said wife Mary Pyke during such time as she shall remain my Widow and unmarried
after my decease Guardian of the persons and Estates of my said Children during
their respective minorities and after her decease and in case she shall so marry again
I do hereby nominate and appoint the said martin John Brunwin and Coppinger
Henry Gooch and the Survivor of them and the Executors and adm[inistrat]ors of such survivor
to be the Guardians and Guardian of the persons and Estates of my said Children
during the then remainder of their respective Minorities and I do hereby appoint my
said wife Mary Pyke and the said Martin John Brunwin and Coppinger Henry
Gooch to be Executrix and Executors of this my last will and Testament but in case
my said wife shall marry again after my decease Then I do hereby 
declare and direct that she shall cease to be an Executrix of this my
will and I do in that case revoke the appointment of my said wife to be an
Executrix as aforesaid provided always and I do hereby declare that in case the
said Martin John Brunwin and Coppinger Henry Gooch or either of them or any
succeeding Trustees or Trustee to be nominated or apopinted as hereinafter
mentioned in the place of stead of them or either of them shall happen to die or


be desirous to be discharged from or decline refuse or become incapable to act in
the trusts aforesaid before the same Trusts shall be fully performed or satisfied then
and so often as the same shall happen it shall be lawful for the surviving or
continuing or other Trustee or Trustees of the Trust Premises for the time being with
the Consent in writing of my said Wife Mary Pyke during her widowhood and
after her decease or second marriage of their or his own proper authority by
any Note or writing under their or his own hands or hand to nominate substitute
and appoint any other person or persons to be a Trustee or Trustees in the place
or stead of the Trustee or Trustees so dying or desiring to be discharged or refusing or
becoming incapable to act as aforesaid and that when and so often as any such Trustee
or Trustees shall be nominated as aforesaid all the Trust Premises respectively the
Trustee or Trustees of which shall so die desire to be discharged refuse or become
incapable to act as aforesaid shall thereupon with all convenient speed be conveyed
transferred and assured in such sort and manner and so that the same shal and
may be legally and effectually vested in the newly appointed Trustee or Trustees
jointly with the former continuing Trustee or Trustees of the Trust Premises or
in case there shall be no continuing former Trustee then in such newly appointed
Trustee or Trustees onlyupon the several Trusts and to and for the several intents
and purposes hereinbefore by me expressed and declared of and concerning the same
and thatevery such new Trustee shall and may in all respects act and assist in the
carrying on and execution of the trusts to which he shall be so appointed as fully
and effectually and with all such powers and authorities whatsoever as if such
new Trustee had been by me originally nominated and appointed and as often the
surviving or continuing Trustees or Trustee of the same Trust Premises might do
or could have done under or by force of this my will or otherwise as if such original
Trustees or Trustee had been then living and continuing to act under or in execution
of the Trusts hereby in them reposed provided also and I do hereby declare that the
said Trustees in and by this my will nominated and appointed and hereafter to be
nominated and appointed by virtue of the said last mentioned power and each
and every of them their heirs Executors adm[inistrat]ors and assigns shall be charged and
chargeable only for so much money as they and every of them shall respectively
actually receive by virtue of or under this my will or the trusts aforesaid and that
any one or more of them shall not be answerable for the other or others of them
nor for the acts receipts neglects or defaults of the other or others of them but each of
them for his own acts receipts neglects or defaults only nor shall they or any of them
be answerable or accoutnable for any person or persons in whose hands the aforesaid
monies or any part thereof shall or may be deposited or lodged for safe custody nor
for the insufficienty or deficiency of any Security or Securities in or upon which the
aforesaid Trust Monies or any part thereof shall or may be placed out or invested
as aforesaid nor for any misfortune loss or damage which may happen in the execution
of any of the aforesaid Trusts or in relation thereto except the same shall happen
by or through their own willful neglects or defaults respectively and also that the said several
Trustees and each and every of them their and each and every of their heirs Executors
adm[inistrat]ors or assigns shall and may by and out of the monies which shall come to
their respective hands by virtue of this my will or the trusts aforesaid retain to and
reimburse themselves respectively and also allow to their andhis Co Trustree and
Co Trustees all losses costs damages and expences which he they or any of them shall
or may respectively suffer sustain expend disburse be at or be put unto or which
shall or may be to him them or any of them occasioned for or on account or by reason
or means of the Trusts hereby within reposed or the management and execution
thereof or otherwise howsoever relating thereto In Witness whereof I the said
George Pyke the Testator have to this my last will and Testament contained in seven sheets
of paper set my hand to the first six sheets my hand and seal to the seventh and last
sheet thereof and my Seal to the Lable that affixeth ???? together the 28th day of

Whereas I The Revd George Pyke of Wickhambrook in the County of
Suffolk have duly made & executed my last will and Testament in writing bearing date
on or about the latter end of the Month of November now last past and have thereby
devised all and every my Estates unto and to the use of the Revd Martin John Brunwin
and Coppinger Henry Gooch their heirs and assigns upon Trust to sell the same and after
making certain specific payments thereout to my wife and Daughters as therein mentioned
to divide the proceeds thereof amonst my six Sons Now I do hereby declare my will and
mind to be that if the shares to which my said Sons shall be respectively entitled
shall amount to the sum of Two thousand pounds each Then and in that case I do
hereby give and devise all such part or share of the Fouton Estate belonging to me unto
my wife Mary Pyke her heirs and assigns for ever and I do ordain and declare this present
writing to be a codicil to mysaid will and that the same shall be annexed thereto and
taken as part thereof and do confirm my said will in every particular thereof that is not
hereby altered or revoked In witness whereof I have to this codicil set my hand and seal
the 12th day of December in the year of our Lord 1827. Geo Pike  Signed Sealed

Proved at London (with a Codicil) 13th March 1828 before the worshipful Charles
Coste Dr of Laws and Surrogate by the oaths of the Revd Martin John Brunwin Clerk
and The Revd Coppinger Henry Gooch Clerk two of the Ex[ecut]ors to whom admon was granted
being first sworn duly to administer power reserved to Mary Pyke widow the Relict the other
Executor (during her Widowhood).
