31 March 1798 Will of Elizabeth Pyke of Newington, Surrey, widow (proved 16 July 1803)

I Elizabeth Pyke of Newington
in the County of Surry Widow Do hereby make my
last Will and Testament in manner and form follwg
that is to say) First I desire to be buried in the
Church Yard of Saint Mary Lambeth near the


Grave of my deceased Husband I give to my Son
Thomas Pyke of Newington aforesaid Baker seven hundred
pounds Interest or share in the Joint Stock of Consolidated
four Per Cent Bank Annuities I give to the said
Thomas Pyke and my Brother in Law William Walker
of Pentonville in the County of Middlesex Gentleman
four hundred pounds Interest or share in the Consolidated
three per Cent Bank Annuities upon Trust that they
the said Thomas Pyke and William Walker or the 
Survivor of them his Executors or Administrators do
and shall pay apply transfer and dispose of the same 
or any part thereof or the Dividends Interest and
proceeds thereof unto such person or persons and for
such uses intents and purposes and in such parts and 
proportions manner and form and at such time or
times as my Daughter Mary George wife of Joseph
George of the Parish of Saint Bride in the City of London
Carpenter) notwithstanding her Coverture and whether 
she shall be sole or married by any writing or
writings under her hand or by her last will and
Testament shall give direct or appoint and in default
of such Gift direction or appointment or as to such
much thereof of which there shall not be any such
Gift Direction or appointment upon Trust for the
said Mary George her Executors or Administrators 
I give to my Grand Daughter Elizabeth George Daughter 
of the said Joseph and Mary George Fifty pounds 
Consolidated three per Cent Annuities to be transferred 
to her so soon after my decease as it can conveniently 
be done I give to my Grand Daughter Elizabeth
Gordon Daughter of James Gordon of Eagle Street Red
Lyon Square in the County of Middlesex by my late
Daughter Elizabeth Gordon one hundred and Fifty pounds
three per Cent Consolidated Annuities To my Grand
Daughter Ann Gordon another Daughter of the said
James Gordon one hundred and Fifty pounds three P
Cent Consolidated Annuities

	to my GrandSon William
Gordon Son of the said James Gordon one hundred
pounds three per Cent Consolidated Annuities and to
my Grandson James Gordon another Son of the said
James Gordon one hundred pounds three per Cent 
Consolidated Annuities I give to my Grandson Edward
Pyke Son of the above named Thomas Pyke Fifty
pounds for per Cent Annuities and to my Grand
Daughter Harriott Pyke Daughter of the said 
Thomas Pyke Fifty pounds three P Cent Consolidated
Annuities And it is my desire that the several Legacies
given to such of the Legatees being Grandson or
Grandsons as shall have attained the age of twenty


one years or being a Grand Daughter or Daughters
shall have attained that age or be married in my
life time shall be transferred to them respectively so
soon after my decease as it can conveniently be done
and that the Legacies given to such of the Legatees
as being a Grand Sons or Grand Son  shall not
have attained the age of twenty one years or being a
Grand Daughter or Grand Daughters shall not have 
attained that age or be married at the time of my
decease shall be transferred to such Grandsons when
they shall respectively attain the age of twenty one
years and to such Grand Daughters when they shall
respectively attain that age or at the time of their
respective Marriages which shall first happen and
that the Dividends and Interest thereon arising and
accruing due in the mean time shall be received by
my Executors and paid to the respective Parents of such
Legatees or be applied by my Executors in and
towards their Maintenance and Education And as to
all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Estate 
and Effects whatsoever after payment of my Debts 
Funeral Expences and the Legacies above mentioned 
I give devise and bequeath the same unto my Daughter
Mary George and Elizabeth Pyke wife of my Son
Thomas Pyke to be equally divided between them And
I appoint my Son Thomas Pyke and the above
named William Walker Joint Executors and hereby 
revoke all former Wills In witness whereof I have
hereunto set my hand the thirty first day of March
one thousand seven hundred and ninety eight

Elizabeth Pyke as her last will and Testament in
the presence of us who in her presence and in the
presence of each other have subscribed our names as
witnesses the words One hundred and being first 
obliterated in the 22nd line of the second side  John
Cox of Herrips Street Pentonville  Wade Burr of
Newington Surry

This Will was proved at London the sixteenth
day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and three before the worshipful Charles Coote 
Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Sir William Wynne
Knight also Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary
of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted
by the Oaths of Thoams Pyke the Son of the deceased
and William Walker the Executors named in the said
will to whom Administration of all and singular the
Goods Chattels and Credits of the  deceased was
granted they having been first sworn duly to Administer
