In the Name of God Amen
I Edward Pyke of Mitcham in the County of Surrey
Shopkeeper being infirm of Body through a long Series of Illness
but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding 
Do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in
manner following First I desire I may be frugally 
and decently Buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter 
named my Soul I recommend to the hands of Almighty
God hoping for the Remission of my Sins through the merits 
and Passion of my Blessed   Saviour and Redeemer
And as to such Worldly Estate and Effects it hath pleased 
God to bless me withall I give and dispose thereof as follows
(that is to say) after payment of my just debts and Funeral
Expences All my Personal Estate and Effects whatsoever and
wheresoever I give and bequeath unto my Dear Wife Elizabeth
whom I do hereby Nominate Constitute and appoint whole
and Sole Executrix of this my last Will and hereby revoking 
all other and former Wills by me at any time heretofore made
do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In
Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal
this twenty seventh day of July in the year of our Lord
one thousand seven hundred and Fifty five  Edward Pyke
Signed Sealed Published and declared by the above named
Mr Edward Pyke as and for his last Will and Testament in 
the presence of us who have Subscribed our names as
Witnesses hereto in the presence of the Testator and in the
presence of each other  John Stedall  Jas Clob? Gascoigne

This Will was proved at London before the
Worshipfull Andrew Coltee Ducarel Doctor of Laws and
Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir George Lee Knight also
Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative 
Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted on the Seventeenth day 
of September in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred
and Fifty five by the Oath of Elizabeth Pike Widow the Relict of 
the deceased and Sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom 
administration was Granted of all and singular the Goods 
Chattles and Credits of the said deceased She having been first 
sworn duly to administer
