This is the last Will and
Testament of me Walter Wiltshire Pike of Tetbury
in the county of Gloucester Woolstapler First I give
devise and bequeath unto Thomas Saunders Esquire
and Josiah Paul Tippetts Woolstapler both of Tetbury
aforesaid all those my Messuages or Tenements with
the outhouses Gardens and appurtenances thereunto
belonging situate at Tetbury aforesaid and now
in my own possession and also all my Household
Goods Plate Linnen China Pictures and Household
Stuff and Furniture Stock and Implements of Trade
Monies Securities for Money Rights credits and
personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever To hold
unto the said Thomas Saunders and Josiah Paul
Tippetts their Heirs Executors Administrators and
assigns Upon Trust and to and for the uses Intents
and purposes hereinafter mentioned and expressed
that is to say In the first place to sell off and dispose
of my Stock and Implements in Trade Horses and
Hay and collect and get in all Monies that shall be
due to me on my account whatsoever so that the
whole shall be turned into ready Money and with
the Money that shall be in my possession at the time
of my decease ^ except the Mortgage Debt affecting my  		^ do and shall pay my Funeral Expences and then all the just Debts I shall owe at the time of my decease 
Dwelling Houses in Tetbury aforesaid and when and
as soon as the same as shall be fully paid and
satisfied to pay unto my Brother Thomas Pike
the Sum of four hundred Pounds which I give him
to and for his own use and benefit and then to pay
the Sum of one hundred Pounds to my Brother
Robert Pike which I give him to and for his own use
and Benefit and in case there shall be any Overplus
I give the same to my said Brother Thomas Pike
But my will and Intention is and I do hereby direct
that in case my Stock and Implements in Trade
Horses Hay and Money shall be insufficient for
paying my Funeral Expences Debts and the two
legacies of four hundred pounds and one hundred
pounds to my said Brothers Thomas Pike and
Robert Pike I then will and direct the said Thomas
Saunders and Josiah Paul Tippetts then Executors
Administrators and Assigns to sell and dispose of
my said Household Goods Plate Linnen China 
Pictures Household Stuff and Furniture and all
other my personal Estate or so much thereof
as will make up such deficiency and in case the whole
of my said Household Goods Plate Linnen China
Pictures Household Stuff Furniture and Personal
Estate shall be insufficient for payment of my
Funeral Expences Debts (except the Mortgage Debt
aforesaid) and the said two Legacies to my said



said Brothers Then and in such case I do hereby
will and direct the said Thomas Saunders and
Josiah Paul Tippetts their Heirs and Assigns to sell
and dispose of my said Messuages or Tenements
with the Gardens Outhouses and Appurtenances
thereunto belonging situate in Tetbury aforesaid
for the best price or prices that can or may be got
and after paying off the Mortgage affecting the
same do and shall apply the remaining Monies
arising by such Sale for and towards making good
such insufficiency and in case there shall be any
Overplus I give the same to my said Brother Thomas
Pike and if it shall be necessary to sell and dispose of
my said Messuages or Tenements I do hereby 
request and intreat my dear wife Elizabeth Pike
to execute a Release of her Dower of and in the said
messuages or Tenements (as she has an ample
Provision by Settlement made previous to our
Marriage in order that all my Debts may be
fully paid which will be a grateful act done to
my Memory But in case my said Stock and
Implements in Trade Horses Hay and Money
shall be sufficient to pay my Funeral Expences
Debts and the said Legacies of four hundred Pounds
and one hundred Pounds then I give unto my said
dear Wife Elizabeth Pike for and during the term of
her natural life the use of my said Household
Goods Plate Linnen China Pictures Household Stuff
and Furniture and all other my Personal Estate
or so much as shall be left unsold for the purpose
aforesaid and also my said Messuages or Tenements
with the Gardens Outhouses and Appurtenances
thereunto belonging               she paying and
keeping down the Interest of the Mortgage affecting
the said Messuages or Tenements ^ Gardens Outhouses		^ and from and immediately after her Decease I give devise and bequeath the said Messuages or Tenements
and Appurtenances and also my said Household
Goods Plate Linnen China Pictures Household Stuff
and Furniture and all other my Personal Estate
or so much thereof as shall be lfet unsold for the
Purposes aforesaid unto my said brother Thomas
Pike his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns
And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint
the said Thomas Saunders and Josiah Paul Tippetts
joint Executors In Trust of this my last Will and
Testament hereby revoking and making void all
former wills by me made and my will is and I do
hereby direct that it shall and may be lawfull to
and for the said Thomas Saunders and Josiah Paul
Tippetts their Heirs Executors Administrators and
Assigns to pay satisfy and reimburse themselves out
of the Trust Premisses all such reasonable costs
charges and Expences which they shall sustain



and be put unto in and about the Trusts hereby
in them reposed and that they shall not be answerable
or accountable for the acts Receipts Neglects Miscarriages
and defaults of each other but each for his own acts
Receipts Neglects Miscarriages and Defaults only In
witness whereof I the said Walter Wiltshire Pike have
to this my last will and Testament contained in three
Sheets of paper set my Hand and Seal to wit my hand
at the bottom of the two preceeding Sheets thereof
and my Hand and Seal to this third and last Sheet
this sixteenth day of May in the Year of our Lord
one thousand seven hundred and eighty five

as Witnesses thereto in his presence and in the presence

On the third day of March in the Year of our
Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty six
administration with the will annexed of all and singular
the Goods Chattels and Credits of Walter Wiltshire
Pike late of Tetbury in the County of Gloucester
deceased was granted to Elizabeth Pike Widow the
Relict of the said deceased and Residuary Legatee for
??? named in the said Will having been first sworn
by Commission duly to administer Thomas Saunders
and Josiah Paul tippetts the Executors and Universal
Legatees In Trust named in the said Will having 
first renounced as well the Execution thereof as
Letters of administration with the said will annexed
of the Goods of the said deceased and Thomas Pike
the Brother of the said deceased and Residuary Legatee
named therein first consenting
