In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Pike of Pennywell Road in the Out Parish of Saint Philip and Jacob Bristol in the County of Gloucester Gentleman being sound in mind memory and understanding do make constitute and appoint this Writing to be as and for my last Will & testament in manner following (that is to say) First My Will and pleasure is that all my lawful debts and funeral Expences be paid out of my Estate and Effects by my Executor hereinafter named Also I give and bequeath to Mr Joseph Matthews of Pennywell Road Printer with whom I now reside one hundred pounds as a Compensation for the trouble he has had or may have with me before My decease and all the residue of my property of every name and description to be divided in manner following (that is to say) I give and bequeath to my brother William Pike one third part of the said property or in case of his death before me then the said third part to his Surviving Children share and share alike Also I give and bequeath to my Niece Jane Rowland living near Taunton one hundred pounds as a testimony of my regard and all the residue and remainder of my Estate and Effects My Will and pleasure is shall be divided between my two nieces Elizabeth Sharland and Sarah Matthews and Margaret Sharland daughter of my Nephew Edward Sharland deceased in manner following (that is to say) to my Niece Elizabeth Sharland one third part of all the aforesaid residue and remainder as her own property and at her own disposal Also to the aforesaid Margaret Sharland daughter of my late Nephew Edward Sharland the sum of One hundred pounds such sum to be invested as soon as convenient in the public founds by my Executor hereinafter named and all Interest and profits arising therefrom to remain and accumulate with the principle until she shall arrive at the age of twenty one years but should the aforesaid Margaret Sharland die before she attains the age of twenty one years leaving no lawful issue then the said hundred pounds to be for her Monther Ann Sharland Widow of my late Nephew Edward Sharland deceased with all Profits arising therefrom but should her aforesaid Mother die before her then the said One hundred pounds with all profits arising therefrom shall be divided between the Children of my Niece Sarah Matthews share and share alike and all the remainder of my Estate and Effects I give and bequeath to my Niece Sarah Matthews as her own property and at her own disposal and should either of my aforesaid Nieces Elizabeth Sharland or Sarah Matthews die before me leaving no lawful issue the Survivor to have the others share but should they leave any lawful issue such issue to have the mothers share in equal parts Also I hereby nominate constitute and appoint the aforesaid Joseph Matthews of Pennywell Road sole Executor of this my last Will and testament ^ In and hereby revoking all former Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of May One thousand Wills by me at any time heretofore Eight hundred and twenty nine Thos Pike Signed Sealed and delivered by the Testator made do declare this to be my last as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who are Witnesses to the execution Will and testament thereof Hannah Thompson Maria Murch Proved at London 15th February 1830 before the Judge by the Oath of Joseph Mathews (in the Will written Matthews) the sole Exor to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn (by Commission) duly to Administer
