The Reverend Samuel Pike

In the Name of God Amen
I Samuel Pike now living in Hoxton Square of the
Parish of Saint Leonard Shoreditch London being in
good health of body and of perfect mind and memory
do make this my last Will and Testament in manner
and form following I recommend my Soul into the hands 
of God looking for the Mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ
unto Eternal life I commit my Body to the Dust to be
decently buried at the discretion of my Executrix 
hereafter named firmly believing the Resurrection of the
dead As to those worldly Effects and Property which the
Lord in his kind Providence has been pleased to favour
me with I will and bequeath the same in manner and
form following after all my just debts and Funeral 
Charges are discharged I will and bequeath the whole
Surplus and Remainder in the following manner Viz
My Freehold Estate consisting of the House wherein
I now dwell which I purchased of Mr John Gould in
the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and
sixty two with what belongs thereunto together with
all the Moneys that may at my decease stand in my
name in any of the Public Stocks or Funds Principal
and Interest I bequeath the whole to my dear and 


well beloved Wife Susanna Pike for her use and benefit
during the term of her natural life and after her
decease to be divided equally Share and Share alike
to my Children of her Body lawfully begotten and to
their Heirs and Assigns only I will thaat the neat Sum
of eighty seven pounds fifteen shillings which I gave to
my Daughter Susanna at her Marriage to John Bedder
Bricklayer should be considered (but without any
Interest upon it) as a part of her Share already paid
As to my Household Furniture Linnen Books Money
in Hand or due to me and whatsoever else does or may
belong to me at my decease (excepting my Real Estate
and Moneys in Stocks as aforesaid) I will and bequeath
the whole to my dear and well beloved Wife aforesaid
to be for her use and benefit and to be intirely at her
discretion It is likewise my Will and desire that the
House in which I now dwell and what belongs to 
it as aforesaid should not in future time or any part
of it be sold away out of my Family if there are
any of my Descendants in the Male or Female Line 
that shall be able and willing to purchase the same
Also I do hereby appoint the said Susanna Pike
my dear and well beloved Wife aforesaid sole Executrix
to this my last Will and Testament Lastly I do
hereby make void all former wills and determine this
to be my last Will and Testament made this ninth day
of December in the year of our Lord One thousand seven
hundred and sixty seven Whereunto I now set my
hand and Seal Saml Pike LS Signed sealed published
and declared to be my last Will and Testament in the
presence of John Barnards  Edwd Jeffs  John Juniper

On the eighteenth day of November in the year
of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy nine
administration with the Will annexed of all and
singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the 
Reverend Samuel Pike formerly of Hoxton in the Parish
of St Leonard Shoreditch in the County of Middlesex
but late of Trowbridge in the County of Wilts deceased
was granted to Susanna Bedder Wife of John Bedder
the natural and lawful Daughter and Administratrix
of the Goods of Susanna Pike Widow deceased whilst
living the Relict of the said deceased sole Executrix
and Residuary Legatee named in the said Will she
having been first sworn duly to administer The said
Susanna Pike Widow surviving the said Testator but
dying without having taken upon her the Execution 
of the said Will
