This is the last Will
and Testament of me Samuel Pike of Carbonear in
the Island of Newfoundland Surgeon but now residing
at the Hotwells in the County of Gloucester in the
Kingdom of England which I make in manner and
form following (that is to say) first I order and 
direct my Just Debts Funeral Expences and the
Charges of and attending the probate of this my Will
to be first paid and discharged I give devise and
bequeath all my Estate and Effects whatsoever and
wheresoever in the Island of Newfoundland partly
consisting of a Messuage Tenement or Dwelling House
at Carbonear in the said Island with the Furniture
thereto belonging and partly of Surgical Instruments
?ings and other ARticles used in my profession and
divers Debts due to me there and also my present and
eversionary and Contingent Share and Interest of
and in the Estate and Effects of my late Father To the hold the
same and every part and parcel thereof unto my
Sister Eliza Pike of Carbonear aforesaid Spinster
her Heirs Executors Admors and Assigns absolutely
for ever I give and bequeath unto my Sister Julia
Seager wife of Mark Seager the younger of the 
Town and County of Pool Merchant two third
parts or shares the whole unto three equal parts
to be divided of and in the Money which shall be
due to me at the time of my decease upon balance of
accounts with Messrs George and James Kemp and
Company to and for her own sole and separate use
and behoof absolutely And her receipt or receipts



alone shall be a good and Sufficient discharge to my
Executors hereinafter named for the same without her
present or any future Husband Joining therein and
as to the remaining One third part of and in the
Money which shall be due to me upon balance of
Accounts with the said Messrs George and James
Kemp and Company at the time of my decease I
give and bequeath the same unto George Kemp the
younger of the Town and County of Pool Merchant
my Executor hereinafter named upon Trust to pay and
dispose of the same to and amongst Such other of my
Relations as are not mentioned in this my will as
he the said George Kemp shall in his discretion 
Judge proper and as to all the Rest Residue and
Remainder of my Estate and Effects whatsoever and
wheresoever both Real and Personal including my
Wearing Apparel I give devise and bequeath the
same and every part thereof unto my Said Sister
Julia Seager ^ her Heirs Executors and Admors		^ To hold to her the said Julia Seager
absolutely for ever and Lastly revoking all former
and other Will or Wills by me made I do declare
this only to be my last will and Testament and do
appoint the said George Kemp the younger Executor
hereof In witness whereof I the said Samuel Pike
the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament
Set my hand and Seal the seventeenth day of 
January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and seven  Saml Pike  LS  Signed Sealed
published and Declared by the said Samuel Pike
the Testator as and for his last will and Testament
in the presence of us who at his request in his
presence and in the presence of each other have
subscribed our names as witnesses attesting the due
Execution hereof the words now residing at the Hot-
wells in the County of Gloucester being first interlined
and the word "seven" the lastword in the date being
first written on an Erasure  Willm Dowell  H Wm

This Will was proved at London the second
day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand
eight hundred and seven before the Worshipful George
Ogilvie Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Honorable
Sir William Wynne Knight also Doctor of Laws Master
Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of
Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of George
Kemp the younger the sole Executor named in the
said will to whom Administration of all and
singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said
deceased was granted he having been first sworn 
duly to administer
