12 June 1821 Will of John Pike of Clapham, Surrey (proved 17 May 1822)

In the Name of God Amen
I John Pike of the Parish of Clapham in the County of Surrey being
of sound mind but weak in body do declare this to be my last Will and
Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made this twelfth day of
June in the year of Our Lord Jesus Christ one thousand eight hundred and
twenty one I give to my dear Wife Sarah Pike all the Profits arising from
my freeholds and leaseholds whatsoever and wheresoever situated during her
life and I further give all the money that shall be unto me belonging 
together with all my Plate Linen Pictures Books Furniture and whatsoever else
shall be unto me belonging to her and her Assigns for ever after she shall have
paid my Testamentary & Funeral Expences debts and Legacies hereafter named And 
after the death of my said Wife I Give to my Sister Ann Stokes Daughter of
John and Mary Pike of Putney in Surrey all the Profits arising from my
two Freehold Houses situate at No 5 and six Gay Street Bath during her life and
at her death to her two Daughters No 5 to the eldest Daughter and No 6 to the 
youngest Daughter to them and their assigns for ever I give after the decease of
my Wife to my Niece Martha Naish Wife of Stephen Naish of Wimbledon in
Surry all the Yearly Profits of my two freehold houses situated in Clapham
the one I live in and the next to it now let to Mr Silk of Great Knight
Riders STreet Doctors Commons together with the ground rent of the house on the
other side of the one I now live in likewise my three leasehold house situate
in Bromells Buildings together with my leasehold house situate at Stockwell
in Surrey now in the occupation of Mrs Groves Widow upon her paying to
Mrs Lock Widow of Joseph Lock residing at No 20 Gloster STreet Commercial Road 
White Chapel the weekly Sum of ten shillings during her life and at the 
decease of the said Martha Naish I Give the whole of the Property the James 
and Joseph Knight Sons of Joseph Knight and Elizabeth Wealthy Knight 
late of New Street Leeds Yorkshire upon their paying Mr Naish of Wimbledon
aforesaid if then living twenty six pounds yearly and Mrs Lock if living
ten shillings weekly I give all the above to be equally divided between the 
said James and Joseph share and share alike to them and their Assigns for ever
I give my Freehold Garden and Stable situate at Harlow in Essex to Mrs Mary
Hall Widow and now in her occupation for her life and at her death to her
Daughter Harriet Hall and her Assigns for ever I give my Sister Stokes thirty
pounds each year to be paid quarterly by my Wife during her life I give 
Mrs Mary Haynes Widow of Clapham Surrey the leasehold now let to Miss
Carrick and Mrs Mary Taylor at the death of my said Wife with my Interest 
in the house she now lives in and the fixtures in the shop she now 


occupies I Give to Mrs Lock of No 20 Gloster Street aforesaid ten shillings Pr Week
to be paid by my Wife during her life I give Harriott Hall Daughter of Mary
Hall of Harlow aforesaid one hundred pounds I Give  my Niece Jane Haynes
twenty pounds I Give my Nephew and Niece Stephen & Martha Naish of
Wimbledon in Surry five pounds each I Give to my brother in Law & Sister
in Law Joseph & Ann Lockhart five pounds each I give Joseph Ward of Wallworth
				    daughters of ?? Lock 20 Gloster St
Surry five pounds I give Mary Lock Ann Lock and Jane Lock five pounds each
I Give Mrs Thomas Loat Widow Niece of the late Mrs Pike five pounds I
give her Son Thomas Loat five pounds I give my respected Friend Mr John
Loat of Clapham twenty pounds together with my Silver Tancard & stand
as a small token of my regard I Give Mtriss Jane Loat and Miss Sarah Loat
Sisters of the above Mr John Loat five pounds each I Give Mtriss Pitcher of
Clapham five pounds I give Mrs Loat Wife of Mr John Loat as a small
token of my Love five pounds I give each of their Children as a small present 
five pounds each that is to say William Jane & Susan I give my God daughter 
Jane Loat my Silver Tea Pot & Stand I give Mr Charles Willeter of Clare
Market five pounds I do hereby appoint Mr John Loat of Clapham in Surry
and Mr Charles Willeter Tallow Chandler of Clare Street Clare Market London
and Sarah Pike my dear Wife Executors and Executrix of this my last Will
and Testament As Witness my hand and seal John Pike LS Charles

Proved at London 17th May 1822 before the Worshipful John Danbeny
Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the Oaths of John Loat and Sarah Pike Widow
the relict two of the Executors to whom Admon was granted having been first
sworn duly to Administer Power reserved to Charles Willeter the other Executor

On the 18th day of October 
1841 Admon (with the will
annexed) of the Goods Chattels
and Credits of John Pike late of
the Parish of Clapham in the
County of Surry deced left
unadr by John Loat and Sarah
Pike Widow the Relict respectively
deced whilst living ??? at the
Executors named in the said
Will was granted to John
Loat one of the Executors of 
the Will of the said Sarah Pike
Widow deced who was also the
Residuary Legatee named in
the said Will having been

Charles Willater the other
