This is the last Will and Testament
of me John Pike of Road in the County of Somerset Yeoman I give &
bequeath unto John Brownjohn of Road aforesaid Gentleman and John
Dew of Rickington in the County of Somerset Yeoman the sum of four
hundred pounds of lawful English money to be paid to them by my Executor
hereinafter named in six calendar months next after my decease Upon trust
that they the said john Brownjohn and John Dew and the survivor of
them and the executors or administrators of such survivor do and shall on
receipt thereof put and place out the same at interest either on Government
or freehold security or securities and from time to time receive and take the
interest or dividends thereof and pay and apply the same unto my wife Ann
for and during the term of her natural life and from and immediately after
her decease I give and bequeath the said sum of four hundred pounds and
the stocks funds and securities whereon the same shall be invested unto my
son James Pike my daughter Ann Usher the wife of Job Usher of North Bradley
in the County of Wilts Yeoman my daughter Joyce Greenhill the wife
of John Greenhill of Norton Saint Phillips in the said County of
Somerset Yeoman and my daughter Anna Moore the wife of Charles


Moore of North Bradley aforesaid Yeoman equally to be divided between
them share and share alike and I direct the said John Brownjohn and
JOhn Dew and the survivor of them and the executors or administrators
of such survivor do and shall pay assign or transfer the same accordingly
I also give unto my said wife Ann the use of a sufficient quantity of my house
hold goods and furniture necessary for furnishing a bed woon and sitting
for and during the term of her natural life I give and devise all those my
three freehold tenements or dwellinghouses gardens and premises situate lying
and being in the Parishes of Road and North Bradley aforesaid or one of
them now or late in the occupations of James Road and Thomas Fricker To
the uses following that is to say To the use of the said John Brownjohn & John
Dew their executors and administrators during the life of my said wife Ann
Upon trust that they the said John Brownjohn and John Dew and the
survivor of them or the executors or administrators of such survivor do &
shall permit and suffer my said wife Ann or her assigns to receive and take
the rents issues and profits thereof and of every part thereof for and during the
term of her natural life and from and immediately after her decease Upon
trust that they the said John Brownjohn and John Dew and the survor
of them or the executors or administrators of such survivor do and shall
permit and suffer my said daughter Joyce Greenhill or her assigns to
receive and take the rents issues and profits thereof for and during the term of
her natural life and from and immediately after the decease of the survor
of them my said wife Ann and daughter Joyce Greenhill to the use of
all and every the child and children of my said daughter Joyce Greenhill
and their respective heirs and assigns for ever in equal shares as tenants
in common and if there shall be but one such child then to the use of 
such only child his or her heirs and assigns forever Provided always &
I do hereby direct that if any person for the time being entitled to the
actual possession or receipt of the rents issues and profits of the said
hereditaments and premises hereinbefore by me devised or any of them
or any part or parts thereof respectively shall be under the age of twenty
one years and unmarried that the said John Brownjohn and John
Dew and the survivor of them or the executors or administrators of such
survivor shall as long as the person so entitled as aforesaid shall be
uder the age of twenty one years and unmarried apply the rents issues and 
profits of the said hereditaments and premises or of such part or parts 
thereof to which such person shall be entitled for or towards his or 
her maintenance and education I also give and devise all that tenament
or dwellinghouse and premises situate lying and being in the Parish of
Road aforesaid now or late in the occupation of Thomas Moon and also all
taht piece or parcel of land containing by estimation one acre more or
less situate lying and being in the Parish of Road aforesaid called Moons
Garden now in my own occupation and also all those three tenements or
dwellinghouses gardens and premises situate at Road But within the
Parish of North Bradley aforesaid now or late in the several occupations
of Shadrack Day James Snow and    Sountley To the uses 
following that is to say To the use of the said John Brownjohn and John
Dew their executors and administrators during the life of my said wife Ann
Upon trust that they the said John Brownjohn and John Dew and
the survivor of them or the executors or administrators of such survor
do and shall permit and suffer my said wife Ann or her assigns to receive
and take the rents issues and profits thereof for and during the term of her
natural life and from and immediately after her decease Upon trust that 
they the said John Brownjohn and John Dew and the survivor of 
them or the executors or administrators of such survivor do and shall
permit and suffer my said daughter Anna Moore or her assigns to
receive and take the rents issues and profits thereof for and during the


term of her natural life and from and immediately after the decease of the survivor of
them my said wife Ann and my said daughter Anna Moore To the use
of all and every the child and children of my said daughter Anna Moore
and their respective heirs and assigns for ever in equal shares as tenants
in common and if there shall be but one such child then to the use of 
such only child his or heirs and assigns for ever Provided always and I do
hereby direct that if any person for the time being entitled to the actual

premises lastly hereinbefore by me devised or any of them or any part or 
parts thereof respectively shall be under the age of twenty one years and
unmarried that the said John Brownjohn and John Dew and the 
survivor of them or the executors or administrators of such survivor
shall so long as the person so entitled as aforesaid shall be under the age
of twenty one years and unmarried apply the rents issues and profits of the
said hereditaments and premises or of such part or parts thereof to which
such person shall be entitled for and towards his or her maintenance & education
I also give and devise unto my said son James Pike his heirs and assigns All
those two freehold dwellinghouses gardens orchards and premises called the Yew 
Nee situate lying and being in the Parish of Woolverton in the said County of 
Somerset now or late in the occupations of John Merrett and Rachel Usher
To hold the same dwellinghouses gardens orchards and premises unto my said son
James Pike his heirs and assigns for ever subject and chargeable nevertheless
with payment of the clear annual sum of five pounds of lawful English money to
my said wife Ann and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life
by two half yearly payments in the year that is to say on the twenty fifth day
of May and the twenty ninth day of September the first payment to
commence and be paid on such of the said days as shall first happen
after my decease and in default of payment I hereby give my said wife Ann
full powers of distress and entry as in cases of rent reserved on common
demises I also give and devise unto my said son James Pike his heirs and
assigns All that close piece or parcel of land formerly part of Bradley common
called Pentons now in my own occupation and situate lying and being at
Hoggington in the Parish of North Bradley aforesaid containing by
estimation six acres more or less To hold the same unto my said son James
Pike his heirs and assigns for ever I give and bequeath unto my said wife
Ann Usher the sum of three hundred pounds of lawful English money to be
paid her by my said Executor in six calendar months next after my decease 
I give and bequeath unto my gand daughter Ann Usher daughter of my
said daughter Ann Usher the sum of one hundred pounds of like lawful money
to be also paid her by my said Executor in six calendar months next after my
decease I also give and bequeath unto my said daughter Joyce
Greenhill the sum of two hundred pounds of like lawful money to be also paid her
by my said Executor in six calendar months next after my decease I also give
and bequeath unto my said daughter Anna Moore the sum of two hundred and
fifty pounds of like lawful money to be also paid her by my said Executor in six
calendar months next after my decease and all the rest residue and remainder of my
goods chattels money and securities for money stock upon my farm and lands
rights credits and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what
nature or kind soever my funeral expences debts and legacies being thereout first
paid and discharged I give and bequeath unto my said son James Pike his
executors and administrators and I appoint him my said son James Pike sole
Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me
at any time heretofore made Provided and my will is that my said Trustees shall
not be charged or chargeable for any more of the Trust monies than they shall
respectively receive or come to their hands respectively by virtue of this my will
or for the acts receipts or defaults of the other of them but each for his own acts
receipts or defaults only or for the loss of any of the trust monies happening


without their wilful default and that it shall and may be lawful to and for
my said Trustees and the survivor of them and the executors or admors of
such survivor to deduct retain and reimburse themselves and himself all such
costs losses damages and expences as they or either of them shall or may
expend sustain or be put unto for or by reason or means of the Trusts 
hereby in them reposed in relation to the same Trust monies respectively or to
the management thereof or anything relative thereto In witness whereof
I the said James Pike the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament
contained in five sheets of paper to the first four sheets hereof set my hand and
to this fifth last sheet my hand and seal this thirty first day of December 
in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty two  The
mark and seal of  James Pike  LS  Signed sealed published and
declared by the said James Pike the Testator as and for her last will and
Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the
presence of each other have hereunto set and subscribed our names as witnesses
