This is the last Will and Testament
of me Hannah Pike of North Crawley in the County of Buckingham widow
I give and bequeath all my household goods furniture and other household effects
unto my niece Caroline the wife of John Higgins I give to my nephew John Wil-
mer of Gayhurst in the said County of Buckingham Farmer the sum of one hun
dred and twenty pounds sterling Upon Trust that the said John Wilmer his ex
ecutors adminstrators and assigns or other the Trustee for the time being of this my
will shall and do lay out and invest the same in his name in some or one of the 
parliamentary stocks or funds of Great Britain or of the Funds of the Governor 
and Company of the Bank of England or at interest on mortgage of any estate or es
tates of freehold copyhold or leasehold tenure to be situate in England or Wales to
be from time to time in like manner altered varied or transposed for or into other
stocks funds or securities of the like nature when and as often as occasion may re


quire as such Trustee may think proper and shall and do during the life of my said 
niece Caroline Higgins from time to time as the same shall become due pay and apply
the annual income of such trust fund or of the stocks funds or securities in or upon 
which the same shall be laid out or invested in the proper hands of the said Caroline 
Higgins or unto her order in writing To the intent that the same annual income may
be for her separate use independently of her present or any future husband and may
not be subject to his debts control or engagements and that she may not either solely or
jointly with any husband make any assignment or appointment by way of anticipa
tion of any unaccrued payment of the said annual income and from and after the de
cease of the said Caroline Higgins Upon Trust for such person or persons as she the said 
Caroline Higgins whether covert or sole shall by her last will and testament in writing 
or any Codicil or Codicils thereto duly executed direct  or appoint and in default of 
such direction or appointment In Trust to pay and transfer the said trust money 
and premises unto and equally between such of the children of my late brother John
Wilmer deceased (including my said nephew John Wilmer) as shall be then living and to 
the issue of such of them as shall be then dead leaving issue such issue to take the 
share or shares of his her or their parent or parents only and I direct that the receipt 
or receipts of the said Caroline Higgins whether she shall be Covert or sole shall be a
good discharge or good discharges for the money therein mentioned or acknowledged 
to be received Provided always that in case my said nephew John Wilmer shall de
part this life in the life time of the said Caroline Higgins or shall become incapable
to act in the execution of the trusts of this my will it shall be lawful and I do hereby
authorize and require the said Caroline Higgins by writing under her hand to nomi
nate and appoint some other fit person or persons to be a Trustee or Trustees in the 
place or stead of the said John Wilmer and such newly appointed Trustee or Trustees 
shall have and be invested with such and the like powers and authorities as if he or 
they had been originally named a Trustee of this my will I give to my nephew Ben
jamin Wilmer the legacy of ten pounds to my niece Elizabeth the wife of JOhn Thornley
the legacy of one hundred pounds To my niece Mary the wife of John Wittet the Leg
acy of one hundred pounds and to Eliza Wilmer the daughter of my said nephew Ben
jamin Wilmer the Legacy of one hundred pounds and in the event of the death of 
the said Elizabeht Thornley Mary Wittet and Eliza Wilmer or any of them in my
lifetime leaving issue I direct that her legacy shall go and be paid unto and equal
ly amongst her issue  All the Rest and Residue of my monies securities for
money personal estate and effects I give and bequeath to my nephew the said John
Wilmer and his issue And I appoint him sole Executor of this my will hereby revo
king all former wills by me made In witness whereof I the said Hannah Pike the Tes
tatrix have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the twenty first day
of August one thousand eight hundred and forty five  Hannah Pike  LS
The above written last will and testament of the above named Testratrix Hannah
Pike was signed and sealed by her in the presence of us being both present at the same 
time who in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other have here
unto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto  Dav Norris  Tho Paine

Proved at London 22d March 1848 before the worshipful Robert Joseph Phil
limore Doctor of Laws and Surrogate by the oath of John Wilmer the nephew the sole
executor to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn duly to administer
