In the Name of God Amen
I Edward Pike of the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square 
in the County of Middlesex Cornchandler being of sound and
disposing mind memory and understanding (thanks be to God) Do
make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following
First and principally I commend my Soul into the Hands of
Almighty God and my Body to the Earth to be decently
Interred And as for what Worldly Estate God hath been
pleased to bless me with I give and dispose thereof in 
manner following I direct that all my just Debts and funeral 
Expences be fully paid and satisfied I give and bequeath to
my natural Son Edward Pike otherwise Stevens now or late 
of Whitchurch in the County of Oxford Shoemaker twenty
pounds I give and bequeath to my Daughter Jane Pike
otherwise Holmes of the said parish of Saint George Hanover 
Square Spinster twenty pounds I give and bequeath to my 
Brother Simon Pike five pounds and my Silver watch and a
Large Pewter Dish wherein my Name and the time of my
Birth is Engraved and also all my wearing apparell of all
kinds both Linnen and woollen I given and bequeath to my
Sister Jane Pain Five pounds I give to my Sister Amey Five
pounds and I give to my Sister Hannah Five pounds All
which said Legacies hereby given I will and direct to be
payable at the end of six Months after my death and not 
before and in case either of my said Son and Daughter or
both shall happen to dye before their Legacies shall become 
payable then and in such case I give his her or their Legacy or


Legacys to my Executrix hereinafter named And in case
either of my said Brother or Sisters shall happen to dye before
their Legacys shall become payable then and in such Case
I give the Legacy or Legacys of such of them as shall so
happen to dye to be divided between such of them as shall be
living at the end of six Months after my death And in Case 
they shall all happen to dye before that time I give all the
said Legacys hereby to them given to my Executrix And all
the rest residue and remainder of my Goods Chattels Estate and
Effects of what nature or kind soever the same shall be and 
consist which at the time of my death I shall be possessed of 
Interested in or any ways intitled unto I give and bequeath 
the same unto my loving wife Hannah Pike her Executors 
Administrators and Assigns for her and their own proper use 
and behoof forever and I do nominate constitute and appoint
my said wife Hannah Pike sole Executrix of this my will
hereby revoking and declaring null and void all former and 
other Will or Wills at any time heretofore by me made 
declaring this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness
whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the twenty
first day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand 
seven hundred and sixty seven Edward Pike LS Signed 
sealed published and declared by the said Edward Pike the
Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the
presence of us who have subscribed our Names as Witnesses 
hereunto Howell Powell Princes Street Hanover Square 
James Joysey his Clk

I the abovenamed Edward Pike
Do this sixteenth day of October one thousand seven hundred
and seventy two make this my Codicil to my last will and 
Testament above written I give and bequeath all the residue
and remainder of my Goods Chattels Estate and Effects and
all other matters and things benefits and advantages whatsoever 
by my said Will given to my late wife Hannah Pike she
being dead to her son Thomas Richens his Executors Admors 
and Assigns to and for his and their own proper use and
behoofe forever and I do nominate constitute and appoint the
said Thomas Richens sole Executors of my said will and I
desire that this Codicil may be taken and made part thereof 
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal 
the day and year above written Edward Pike LS Signed
sealed published and declared by the said Edward Pike as a 
Codicil to his Will in the presence of us Edwd Widdows
Howell Powell Princes Street

This Will with a Codicil was proved at London
the seventeenth day of December in the year of our Lord one
thousand and seven hundred and seventy two before the worshipful
Francis Simpson Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right
						  Worshipful


Worshipful George Hay Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary
of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath
of Thomas Richengs otherwise Richens the sole Executor named in 
the said Codicil to whom Administration of all and singular the Goods
Chattels and Credits of the   deceased was granted he having been
first sworn duly to administer
