This is the last Will and Testament
of me Dean Raynor Pike of Maidstone in the County of Kent 
Esquire I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my Sister
Eleanor Durrant my Nephew John Mercer Bosville Durrant and
Knowles King of Maidstone Kent Solicitor Executors of this
my Will I give and bequeath unto Mr George Wise of Tenbridge
Kent Manfacturer of Tonbridge Ware the sum of one 
thousand pounds which I direct my Executors to pay unto the
said George Wise within twelve months next after my decease
I give and devise all my freehold property whatsoever and
wheresoever unto my said Sister Eleanor Durrant to hold unto
and to the use of her the said Eleanor Durrant her heirs and
assigns for ever all the residue of my personal Estate whatso-
ever and wheresoever I give and bequeath unto my said Sister
Eleanor Durrant to and for her own absolute use and benefit 
I give and devise all estates vested in me upon any trust of
by way of mortgage unto them the said Eleanor Durrant John
Mercer Bosville Durrant and Knowles King their heirs
executors administrators and assigns according to the nature
and quality thereof respectively but the money secured to me
by any such mortgage or mortgages is to be considered as 
part of my personal Estate and I revoke all former Wills and In
Witness of this my Will hereunto set my hand and affix my seal
this twelfth day of October in the year one thousand eight

who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each 
other have subscribed our names as Witnesses  John

This is a Codicil to the last Will and Testament of
me Dean Raynor Pike late of Maidstone in the County of Kent
but now of Walthamstow in the County of Essex Esquire and
which will bears date the twelfth day of October in the year 
one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight whereas by my
said Will after appointing my Sister Eleanor Durrant my
Nephew John Mercer Bosville Durrant and Knowles King
my Executors I gave and bequeathed unto Mr John Wise of
Tonbridge the legacy or sum of one thousand pounds which I 
directed my Executors to pay within twelve months next after
my decease and I gave and devised all my freehold property
whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Sister Eleanor Durrant
to hold unto and to the use of her the said Eleanor Durrant her
heirs and assigns for ever all the residue of my personal
estate whatsoever and wheresoever I thereby gave and
bequeathed unto my said Sister Eleanor Durrant to and for
her own absolute use and benefit I also thereby gave and
devised all Estates vested in me upon any trust or by way of


mortgage unto the said Eleanor Durrant John Mercer
Bosville Durrant and Knowles King their heirs executors 
administrators and assigns according to the nature and quality 
thereof respectively but I directed that the money secured to
me by any such mortgage or mortgages should be considered
as part of my personal estate and whereas I am desirous of
ratifying and confirming my said Will if my said Sister shall
survive me but in case of her death in my lifetime I am 
desirious of making such further disposition of my property as
is hereinafter contained Now I do hereby ratify and confirm
my said Will in all respects if my said Sister shall survive me
but if she shall happen to die in my lifetime then I apoint
my said Nephew John Mercer Bosville Durrant and Knowles
King my Executors and I confirm the legacy of one thousand
pounds to the said Mr George Wise but in lieu of the devises
and bequests in favor of my said Sister I give and devise all
my freehold property whatsoever and wheresoever unto my
Nephew John Mercer Bosville Durrant his heirs and assigns
for ever and I give and devise all estates vested in me as trustee
or mortgagee unto and to the use of the said John Mercer
Bosville Durrant and Knowles King their heirs and assigns
upon the trusts and subject to the equities of Redemption
affecting the same all my personal Estate whatsoever which 
I have by my said Will given to my said Sister Eleanor Durrant
for her use absolutely I do in case of her death in my lifetime
give and bequeath unto the said John Mercer Bosville Durrant
absolutely and I rect this Codicil to be added to my Will and
taken as part thereof In Witness whereof I have hereunto 
subscribed my name and affixed my seal this fifth day of
August in the year one thousand eight undred and forty

and the same time hereunto subscribed our names as

This is a Codicil to the last Will and Testament 
of me Dean Rayner Pike late of Walthamstow in the County of 
Essex but now of Notting Hill Square Bayswater in the County of 
Middlesex Esquire bearing date the twelfth day of October one
thousand eight hundred and thirty eight I hereby revoke the 
appointment made by my said Will and also by a Codicil thereto
bearing date the fifth day of August one thousand eight hundred
and forty of Knowles King of Maidstone in the County of Kent
Solicitor as one of my Executors and I hereby also revoke the 
devise contained in my said Will of Estates vested in me upon
trust or by way of mortgage to my Sister Eleanor Durrant my
Nephew John Mercer Bosville Durrant and the said Knowles
King and the devise contained in the said Codicil of the like
Estates in the event of my said Sister dying in my lifetime to
my said Nephew and the said Knowles King and in lieu
thereof I hereby give and devise all real Estates vested in me
in trust or by way of mortgage to my said Sister Eleanor
Durrant and my said Nephew John Mercer Bosville Durrant
their heirs and assigns to hold the same upon the trusts and


subject to the equities of redemption to which such Estates
may at the time of my decease be subject and liable but
nevertheless as to the monies secured by such mortgages 
Estates the same shall be considered as part of my personal
estate but in case my said Sister shall die in my lifetime I give
and devise all real Estates vested in me as aforesaid to my
said Nephew John Mercer Bosville Durrant his heirs and assigns
upon the trusts and subject to the equities of redemption 
affecting the same And in all other respects I confirm my said
Will and Codicil In Witness whereof I have hereunto signed
my name this twenty ninth day of July one thousand eight
hundred and forty two  D R Pike  Signed by the testator
in the presence of us who being both present at the same time
have in his presence and in the presence of each other
hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses  W E Maxwell

Proved at London with two Codicils the 6th October 1842 
before the Worshipful John Danbeny Doctor of Laws and
Surrogate by the Oath of Eleanor Durrant Widow the Sister one
of the Executors to whom Admon was granted having been
first sworn duly to administer power reserved of making the
like Grant to John Mercer Bosville Durrant Esquire the Nephew
the other Executor when he shall apply for the same
