I have served as a grant proposal reviewer for NSERC, NFRF, the NSF, and the NSA.

For each of the 2013, 2014 and 2015 competition years I served on NSERC Evaluation Group 1508 for Mathematics and Statistics.

In July 2015 I was appointed to NSERC's Scholarships and Fellowships Selection Committee for Mathematics and Statistics (committee 177) for a three-year term ending on 30 June 2018.

I have been an external examiner for 13 PhD theses: four from the University of Queensland (Australia), two from Dalhousie University, one from each of Carleton University, Monash University (Australia), the University of Ottawa, Toronto Metropolitan University, the University of Toronto and the University of Victoria, plus another that was cotutelle between the University of Victoria and l'Université de Bordeaux (France). I have also been an external examiner for 1 MSc thesis, from Mbarara University of Science and Technology in Uganda.

Since February 2018 I have served as a Managing Editor for the Australasian Journal of Combinatorics.

Since October 2013 I have served on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Combinatorial Designs.

From 2012 to 2021 I served on the Editorial Board for the journal Ars Combinatoria.

From 2018 to 2021 I served on the Editorial Board for the journal Utilitas Mathematica.

From 2007 to 2018 I served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Genetic Genealogy.
