About me
I'm an Associate Professor of Mathematics, in the School of Science and the Environment, Grenfell Campus, Memorial University, situated in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. I joined Grenfell Campus in 2013.
From May 2024 until January 2026, I served as Interim Dean for the School of Science and the Environment.
From September 2023 until May 2024 (and previously from September 2019 until August 2022), I served as Program Chair for the General Science program.
I am also cross-appointed to the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Memorial University's St. John's campus, where I am a member of the Combinatorics Group.
Originally, I am from the less-than-glamorous city of Wolverhampton, England, but somehow ended up in Corner Brook after stints in Leeds, Waterloo (Ontario), Leeds (again), London, Ottawa, Regina and Toronto.
Education
- M.Math. (hons), Mathematics, University of Leeds, 2002. (This was an extended undergraduate program that culminated in the award of a Masters degree.)
I spent my third year as an exchange student at the University of Waterloo.
In my fourth year, I completed a dissertation supervised by Prof. Dugald Macpherson. - Ph.D. Mathematics, Queen Mary, University of London, 2006. Supervisor: Prof. Peter Cameron.
