Minutes of an Annual Vestry meeting of All Saints Church

The meetin was held in the School room
February 14 @ 4 PM

1

Present The Rev Mr Prescott who acted as Chairman and a fairly good crowd
of the members of All Saints Congregation were present

The Chairman opened meeting with prayer and Mr A King acted as secetary [sic]

Minutes of last meeting read by secetary confirmed and signed by Chairman

The Church Wardens [in pencil appears "a/cs", presumably meaning "accounts"]
were then read by the Ch Warden Mr Alan Penny showing

        Receipts                        $64.89
        Expenses                         52.76
                                         12.13
        overplus from Sexton fee            35
        Balance                         $12.48

The Chairman then asked who were willing for the a/cs as read to be
accepted and the members carried it

The Readers fee was then read by the secetary showing an amt of 27.25
The overplus of 3.25 was handed in with the Church Expenses

The Sextons fee was then read by secetary showing an amt of $14.35
The 35 [a cent sign appears here] overplus being handed over with
the balance from Ch Expenses

Contributions towards the assessment were read by Chairman showing
        Married men     128.50
        Young men        48.00
                        176.50

The Chairman then proposed and Mr Joseph Penny James seconded that a vote of
thanks be given to all officials from Ch Warden down not forgetting the women
who have helped forward the work of the Church during the past year
carried

Proposed by Mr Alex Penny of Joseph seconded by Chas Penny that
Mr Reuben Penny of Jas be Peoples Warden for coming yr          carried

The Chairman then nominated Mr Alan Penny as his warden for coming year
carried

Proposed by Mr Joseph Penny of James seconded by
Mr Wm [it looks like an initial of "J" might be here, but it might just be
due to penstrokes from the above and below lines] Penny that Mr Nathan Penny
be reelected as sidesman

Proposed by Mr Francis Penny of James seconded by Mr Obadiah Penny that
Mr John F Penny and Mr John Batson of H G B be re-elected as sidesmen
(carried)

Proposed by Mr Alex Penny of Jos seconded by Mr Alex Penny of John
that Mr Albert Batson be reelected as sidesman          carried

Proposed by Mr Reuben Penny of Jas seconded by Mr Albert Penny of Wm
that Mr Nathan Penny & Mr John F Penny should collect sexton fee
carried

Proposed by Mr Reuben Penny of Jas and seconded by Mr Alex Penny of Jos
that Mr Peter Wells, Mr Alex Penny of Richard & Mr Albert Penny of Wm
be reelected as cemetry committee
carried

Proposed by Mr Wm J Penny seconded by Mr Alex Penny of John that
Mr Joseph Penny of James be sexton for coming year              carried

Proposed by Mr Benjamin Penny seconded by Mr Mark Penny that
Miss Ethel M Penny should receive the sum of $6 for a slight
appreciation for her services as organist
carried

The Chairman then mentioned that the Sexton should have charge of the church
for a month from date of last vestry meeting and then he should be paid
in proportion to the amount collected for Sexton

Nothing further being brought forward the Chairman closed the meeting with
prayer
